A course of preparation for one of the most important exams, which are mandatory for continuing studies at English-speaking universities, will help students improve their level of English proficiency, practice on the materials of previous years.

Students can choose the appropriate intensity of preparation: 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week, each lasting 50 minutes. In addition, students will attend 5-10 hours of academic skills classes, thanks to which they will gradually begin to adapt to university life. All classes are held under the guidance of qualified teachers who pay individual attention to each student, monitoring progress and helping in difficult moments in time.

English Language Preparation, English Language Course

The program offers students to improve their overall level of English language proficiency by focusing on its main aspects: reading and writing skills, the ability to speak and perceive the language by listening, knowledge of grammar and vocabulary, and vocabulary. Divided into small groups according to their initial level, they attend interactive classes: 20, 25 or 30 lessons per week depending on the intensity chosen. Teachers pay personal attention to students, offering the most suitable educational materials, tasks and conditions for each student's progress to be effective. In the afternoons, students attend one-to-one lessons with a teacher, where they will be able to cover complex topics, deepen their knowledge and expand their curriculum.

CELTA: Part Time

  • The studying period is five weeks.

The CELTA certification course will provide students with the opportunity to become a qualified English teacher in five weeks of study. Participants will have face-to-face and online classes on weekdays from 9:00 to 17:00, during which they will receive:

  • First, second weeks: personal communication and teaching practice in York,
  • Third week: online orientation,
  • Fourth, fifth weeks: online communication, teaching practice.

The curriculum provides six hours of practice, teacher support, and academic materials. All students receive a Microsoft 365 account with an email address and access to MS Teams for teaching practice and document sharing throughout the course.

CELTA: Full Time

  • The studying period is four weeks.

The CELTA program offers students a qualification to teach English in four weeks of full-time study on the center's campus in York. International Foundation Year: Business and Social Sciences

  • The duration of studying is 26 or 37 weeks.

The Pre-Bachelor's Programme at English-speaking universities will provide international students with all the necessary knowledge and skills for a successful transition to higher education. The student can choose one of two intensity options:

  • Standard: 37 weeks of tuition, 30 of which include classes, study tours, exams, vacations. Every week, students can expect 20 hours of basic classes, seminars and practical lessons. Such a course will require at least 20 hours of independent work per week,
  • Intensive: 26 weeks, of which 24 weeks are tuition and exams, vacations. The weekly academic load is 28 hours of classes, seminars and practice, as well as at least 20 hours of self-study.

The main classes of the course are specialized modules in the disciplines of business and social sciences. In the process of studying, students will learn the basics of entrepreneurship, mathematics for business, management, political science, accounting, and other areas. The emphasis of preparation is on English – students practice their speaking skills on a daily basis, learn the language for academic activities, enrich their vocabulary and gradually adapt to the English-speaking environment that awaits them at the university.

Successful completion of the program guarantees students admission to prestigious universities (more than 45 options), including Aston University, University of Bradford, Brunel University London, Cardiff University, Queen Mary University of London and others.

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students have two accommodation options available for the duration of their studies at the language center: a residence or a host family home.

The Vita Residence is a 20-minute walk from the study area, offering several options:

  • Single rooms with private bathroom, access to a shared kitchen in the building,
  • Spacious studios with bathrooms, equipped kitchens.

All rooms and studios are fully furnished and have access to high-speed Wi-Fi. While living in the residence, students take care of their meals on their own, using kitchen equipment and visiting the nearest shops, restaurants and cafes.

Accommodation with a host family is a great option for students who would like to learn more about the culture and customs of England and regularly practice conversational skills with the locals. Host families providing accommodation services in cooperation with Host International are carefully selected and certified to provide comfortable accommodation for foreign students. Their homes are 35-60 minutes away from the campus by public transport, which stops nearby. Up to four foreign students can live in families at the same time. Each of them lives in a single bedroom, uses a shared bathroom, living room and kitchen.

When staying with a host family, a meal plan is provided for the student's choice, which can be tailored to his dietary, medical, and religious needs.

My daughter is currently in York with friends. She is 11 years old Her mother and I would like her to spend a week at Ampleforth College, ideally from next Monday if there is space.
