Summer English Course
- Age of students — from 11 to 17 years old.
Even a short-term course will provide students with an intensive improvement in their English language skills — during classes, pupils focus on reading, writing, listening and speaking, participate in group projects and discussions, and actively practice conversational skills. The curriculum includes 40 lessons organized in small educational groups.
After classes, students will enjoy a rich leisure time: from daytime and evening events on campus to full-day excursions with sightseeing of local attractions and cultural sites. During this time, students will be able to get to know their classmates better, immerse themselves in the study of history and customs of the country, gain new knowledge and increase confidence in using English in non-standard situations.
During the learning process, students periodically take small tests that are aimed at tracking progress in learning English. Upon completion of the course, they receive a certificate with their academic achievements, which will strengthen their desire to improve language skills in the future.

Ampleforth College Summer Camp — a seasonal English language school offering a short-term course for students of any level, from 11 to 17 years old.
The educational program takes place on the campus of the private boarding school Ampleforth College, located in North Yorkshire, in the small town of Ampleford. For several weeks of study, foreign pupils are immersed in an English-speaking environment, which helps them to develop important language skills and confidence in their use more effectively.
In addition to the curriculum with regular English lessons, the camp offers a rich leisure program: many campus events that allow you to meet classmates and try your hand at new hobbies, as well as explore the sights of the region during excursions.
Accommodation, meals, prices
During the educational period, students are accommodated in Ampleforth College residence, occupying rooms of varying capacity and on different terms:
- Single or double rooms — accommodation with full board, which includes three meals a day,
- Double, triple, and quadruple rooms with standard accommodation format.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served daily in the dining hall. On days when an excursion is included in the schedule, students receive a prepaid meal card or a packed lunch.

In extracurricular time, students can expect a rich program of events: collective thematic games, parties, movie screenings, talent shows and much more are organized on campus during the day and evening. The course includes four full-day and two half-day excursions:
- Lake District: cruise on Lake Bowness-Windermere, hiking tour in the mountainous region,
- Manchester: transit tour of the city, visiting shops and cultural sites of the city,
- Leeds: walking tour of the capital of Yorkshire, sightseeing,
- Harrogate: walk through the Victorian resort town,
- York: walking tour of the center, famous medieval street,
- York: visiting York Minster.

Facilities and equipment at Ampleforth College Summer Camp
Education is organized on the Ampleforth College campus — a 2000-acre educational area that includes modern infrastructure for study, recreation and sports. The school is located in the small village of Ampleforth, surrounded by green forests and lakes, and has excellent transport links to Manchester, Leeds, and York. Classes are held in spacious premises, and specialized studios, indoor and outdoor fields and grounds, performance halls and much more have been prepared on campus for sports and creativity.
Admission dates and extra charges
The summer course takes place in July, has several start dates and a flexible duration — two or three weeks. The weekly schedule includes morning English classes, daytime and evening activities.
The tuition fee already covers expenses for academic materials, accommodation and meals, all campus events and several excursions. Additional expenses will be required for flights, medical insurance, educational deposits and personal expenses.
Enrolment process
Applicants need to fill out the registration form, provide the required documents, and take an online test to determine their current English proficiency level. Based on the test results, they are assigned to groups and begin studying on the nearest convenient date.
