Valdosta State University (abbreviated VSU ) is an educational institution of state type that has been active in scientific and academic activities in America since the beginning of the distant 1906. Currently, VSU has its small student campus in Valdosta.

Valdosta State University (VSU) — a public university in southern Georgia, part of the University System of Georgia. The university combines the opportunities of a large institution with small class sizes and individual attention to each student.

The structure includes six colleges and a separate online college, and the educational portfolio encompasses more than 100 bachelor's and certificate programs, as well as over 40 master's programs in in-person, hybrid, and fully online formats. Education at VSU is built on small study groups and individual attention to each student. From the first semester, each student is assigned a personal academic advisor within their college. 

The university involves students in research and practice alongside faculty members from the very first year. To support academic performance, the Academic Support Center operates: free tutoring through the partner platform Knack and group sessions led by Supplemental Instruction (SI) mentors. The faculty numbers approximately 500 instructors.

Housing. The campus has a Housing & Residence Life service offering student residences. Two types of buildings are available for freshmen — suite-style and traditional, with most freshmen placed in traditional buildings. There are themed living communities with additional support and activities. When filling out the application, the student provides information about themselves for roommate matching. On-campus housing is guaranteed for freshmen; for continuing and transfer students, it is provided upon request and is not guaranteed.

Dining. The campus has Palms Dining Hall and a food court in the Student Union with several dining options.

Activities Valdosta State University

VSU student life revolves around the «Blazer Nation» community. In the fall, students and fans cheer on the university's «Blazers» team at football games at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium. The campus features themed residential communities and a recreation center.

Off-campus leisure is equally vibrant: a 20-minute drive away is Wild Adventures amusement park with Splash Island water park and a zoo; nearby is the historic downtown Valdosta with monthly First Fridays city events, and the neighboring Moody Air Force Base hosts an annual air show.
