Unusual Malaysia: from jungles to UNESCO monuments

Unusual Malaysia: from jungles to UNESCO monuments

Clean beaches, clear waters, endless jungles, all the cuisines of the world... If these are not reasons to go to Malaysia, we have found a couple of more arguments for you to visit this exotic country!

Ideal place for families with children

If you want to spend your vacation in a quiet hotel that has many playgrounds and no parties at night, take a closer look at Langkawi: in addition, there are many beaches with shallow waters where children can play in peace.

Older children will be interested in seeing animals in their natural habitat. In Pahang, for example, there is a reserve where elephants live. It is quite difficult for animals to live in Malaysia, becausea lot of forests are cut down and hotels are built in their place: because of this, elephants died, because they simply could not find food for themselves. In the Kuala Gand Nature Reserve, they are cared for, fed, so they feel truly happy. Tourists can even swim in the river with elephants for a small fee! They are not treated here as animals for entertainment: all visitors are just their guests.

On the island of Borneo, you can see orangutans: there they live in the forest, no one really looks after them, except for visiting tourists. You can also look at orangutans in the Sepilok shelter: rescued individuals are taught to build houses, look for food and so on, and then are released into the wild. On the same island, you can see proboscis monkeys. They live on the banks of rivers: from the water, you can watch how they dive and interact with each other.

If animals don't surprise you, maybe Legoland will make you happy? There are as many as eight of them in Malaysia! There is a history of this constructor, children and adults can make a bunch of different figures from the studs, and kids from six years old can ride Lego cars.

Exploring the nature of Malaysia

The nature in this country is amazing, so there are a lot of places where you can go and enjoy it. Tea lovers, and not only them, will appreciate the tea plantations in the Cameron Highlands. When Malaysia was a British colony, the British realized that this was the perfect place to grow the leaves of the future drink here. On the plantation, you can see the entire process of tea production - from collecting leaves to packaging them.

Do you want to be in a real jungle? Then you should visit the Taman Negara National Park! It is difficult to get there - first by car, then crossing the river. Therefore, so that you have time to walk around the park, you can spend the night in the village of Kuala Tahan, in which it is located. You will feel like a local and live in a house on stilts!

Stock up on sprays against mosquitoes and other insects, because, alas, there are a lot of them here.

Hiking is not very developed in Malaysia, but climbing rocks is quite possible. On the island of Borneo, there is Mount Kinabalu, where you will go on a mini-trip with your guide. You don't need to be an experienced hiker to do this, because the route is specially built for beginners. But there is also a direction for professionals! The whole hike will take two days.

Let's continue the topic of outdoor activities: in Malaysia there is a city of Cherating, where surfers come, and there is a marine reserve on the island of Redang. There is clear water through which you can see fish, turtles and flora, and if you swim with a mask, you will find yourself in a real fairy tale!

On an island near Kuala Lumpur, there are Kampung Kuantan fireflies: at night, you can see how they glow brightly, and their light is reflected in the water. Rent a boat and enjoy this incredible experience!

Malaysia's Amazing Architecture

Malaysia is a country of contrasts, and you will definitely understand this when you come to its capital. Climb up to the observation deck of the Petronas Towers and get a bird's-eye view of Kuala Lumpur. It is even difficult to imagine that a few hours drive from this place there is a tea plantation, elephants live and a real jungle grows! Go on a tour and learn the history of the country, interesting facts about the buildings (they are impressive, believe me!).

People with different religions live in Malaysia, so you can see how Catholic churches coexist with mosques. The Negara is a mosque that you can visit regardless of your religion: it is an amazingly beautiful structure built in 1965, dazzling white, and its carvings on the facades make it look like a sugar house.

Walking around the city, you can notice a café with all the cuisines of the world. We advise you to try everything! It is worth starting with roti chanai - a thin flatbread similar to pita bread. It is worth ordering both nasi lemak and char kwai teo - these are hearty dishes with rice or rice noodles with various additives.

In the suburbs and neighboring islands from Kualu Lumpur, many historical buildings are hidden. For example, the island of Penang is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. See the work of street artists, meditate at the Dragon Mountain Temple Museum, and climb Mount Penang.

Another city protected by UNESCO is Malacca. Locals paint their houses in different bright colors, it is very beautiful and unusual. In general, perhaps all the buildings of the city are worthy of attention: the amazing Buddhist "Temple of Green Clouds", the ruined fortress of A'Famos...

If even that hasn't convinced you to come here, here's another fact – it's a real cat city! Here they live at every step, purring and trustingly rubbing against their legs.

We can talk about why it is worth coming to this amazing country for a very long time: a variety of recreation, historical architecture, rich flora and fauna... So, do you take vouchers to Malaysia?
