In a hands-on studio, Architecture and Construction Management students designed and built four types of full-scale walls: light straw-clay, straw bale, adobe, and compressed earth block. Working with full-size structures allowed them to study the weight, texture, and behavior of the materials.

The Animation + VFX program includes a capstone project spanning three consecutive semesters and 120 hours of professional experience in animation, game production, visual effects, film, or television. Program faculty work in the industry, while small studio classes allow students to receive one-on-one instruction.

More than 15 animation and visual effects studios are located within 20 minutes of the university, and students often complete internships at these studios.

• Animation + VFX is included in Animation Career Review’s list of the Top 50 Animation Schools and Colleges in the U.S.,
• in fall 2019, three Graphic + Experience Design students received American Graphic Design Awards. The program earned 119 awards over ten years.

• The campus has served as a filming location for productions including SEAL Team, Community, Criminal Minds, The Mindy Project, Silicon Valley, Shameless, Blackish, and others,
• Architecture students and faculty built the first legal 3-D printed house in Los Angeles,
• In 1931, Woodbury began offering a professional costume design training program,

• In spring 2026, Bon Appétit replaced single-use plastic utensils at Woody’s with compostable utensils. The change is expected to keep an average of 89,000 utensils out of landfills each academic year.

North Hall is a three-story, air-conditioned residence hall divided into 11 community sections, each housing up to 15 students. Each section has a shared kitchen and bathroom. North Hall also has a common lounge and laundry facilities.

South Hall is a single-story, coed residence hall built around a courtyard in the center of campus. Its rooms are not air-conditioned but have ceiling fans. Separate shared bathrooms are located in the men's and women's hallways. South Hall also has a common kitchen, laundry facilities, and a fitness center.

Each residence hall room is furnished with a bed and mattress, desk, chair, dresser, and closet or wardrobe. Meal plans are mandatory for students living in the residence halls.

Campus sustainability initiatives include free Metro rides for students, produce distribution days, the use of recycled water, recycling sorted separately from trash, an annual fruit tree harvest, clothing swaps, and garden meetings.

The Wedge Gallery offers exhibitions, installations, and workshops, with several shows each semester.

The Fashion Study Collection contains more than 5,000 pieces of clothing, from couture to uniforms.

According to figures cited by the university, graduates earn an average of USD 48,000 immediately after college.

• Merit scholarships are awarded to first-year students based on academic promise, personal accomplishments, and GPA. If recipients maintain the required GPA, awards can be renewed for up to three additional years, or four years for architecture students,
• international first-year students may receive the URLA Educational Grant: USD 16,000 for a GPA of 2.95–3.39 or USD 12,000 for a GPA of 2.50–2.94,
• international transfer students may receive the URLA Educational Grant: USD 12,000 for a GPA of 2.95–3.39 or USD 8,000 for a GPA of 2.50–2.94,
• graduate students with strong admission scores and a high GPA may qualify for scholarships or teaching assistantships in their program of study,
