The American private school the Knox School was founded in 1904: it was originally supposed to be a school with a strong bias in the study of arts and music - that's why the institution was located near New York from Its vast cultural opportunities. Advanced Placement

A traditional high school program is designed for American students aimed at completing the course of secondary education and preparing for admission to the chosen university.

Students choose a few high-priority subjects that are studied at an in-depth, more complicated level: this helps to increase the chances of enrolling in the chosen specialty. The curriculum includes compulsory classes (seminars, lectures, practical works, preparation of research projects), and optional electives, attention is paid to sports and creativity, various excursions.

Accommodation, housing and food

The boarding school (accommodation in the school) is available to students from 12 years of age and older: they have prepared cozy, comfortable hostels with rooms for 2-4 people. Women's residences have rooms with private facilities. Together with the children, teachers and their families live in their homes: they create a comfortable, benevolent atmosphere, monitor the observance of cleanliness and order, discipline, and help children to solve various issues.

Events The Knox School

Among the studies of students during extra-curricular hours, one can mention creativity, especially visual art: special exhibitions and galleries are provided on the school grounds and in the local community. This is an excellent opportunity to create and replenish your personal portfolio (it will be very useful when entering the profile universities of art and design), to try your hand at major exhibitions and art shows. For the most successful and talented artists, there are places in the big Solarium gallery (regular program Light from the Shore series).

Much attention is paid to the diverse performing arts: choreography, music, musical and dramatic art - interesting plays are regularly arranged. Colourful, memorable school events are also organized in many ways by the students: the Opening Ceremony of the New Academic Year, the traditional Christmas Ball, caroling by candlelight (this tradition has been observed for several decades), Parental Days and Days of Grandparents, and large annual fairs.

In the theater, students can show themselves not only on stage, but also by working as writers, illuminators, music directors and decorators.

Knox School regularly participates in the festivals of the New York State Music Schools Association, in various music competitions (All-State Competitions), prepares its students for professional auditions, performances at the annual Talents Show on Wednesday Assemblies.

The physical development of schoolchildren, active rest does not stand aside either. Students have the opportunity to engage in a wide variety of sports - for this on the campus there are all kinds of fields, equipment:
