Creative Writing

Show your own writer's voice! The Creative Writing summer course is aimed at a large-scale study of literature and active writing practice (with an emphasis on novels, science fiction, drama and poetry).

The course will help expand your creative capabilities, give you confidence in your abilities as an author. Students will learn how to write for a variety of formats, including modern media. Modern writing is not only books, paper and electronic, but also social media and other marketing, film and animation, writing scripts for the huge entertainment and education industry.

The practical side of creating a text will also not be forgotten. The Designing Tomorrow: Engineering & Technology program will tell students what technologies are sure to shape the near future of humanity - and how everyone can participate in this. The course program includes a variety of topics: from advanced robotics to alternative energy. Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Summer courses at UC Berkeley are non-selective - students are admitted freely as long as there are places on the programs. There are no academic requirements for applicants, but there are certain requirements for the level of English required for successful study:

  • English language courses (EFL) - from B1,
  • To prepare for IELTS - from B2 (according to the IELTS scale, this is approximately 5.5-6.5),
  • For academic courses – C1 (IELTS 6.5) and above.

Students who have studied at an English-speaking school for 2+ years may not confirm their knowledge of the English language.
