Pre-School Programme

  • Age of students – from 4 months to 6 years,
  • The studying period is six years.

The Early School Program offers the youngest students a flexible schedule according to which they can choose the time of attendance, the duration of classes. The teaching team conducts lessons in a bilingual format with 50% teaching in English and Spanish in order to gradually prepare students for entering the primary grades. The main task of the program is to develop the creative abilities, emotional intelligence of students, their mastery of languages, the basics of mathematics, and natural sciences. An important place in the curriculum is occupied by sports classes, creative master classes.

Students, starting from the age of three, are immersed in the first stage of the International Baccalaureate educational program and follow it for the next three years. A variety of areas are added to the curriculum: executive, visual arts, design, computer technology using iPads, laptops, in-depth study of the rules of reading, writing in two languages.

At the end of preschool education, students are fully prepared to move on to the primary grades to study the IB PYP.

International Baccalaureate: Primary Years Programme

  • The studying period is six years.

In the primary grades, students continue to learn bilingualism: 45% of studies are taught in English, 55% in Spanish, and French is added in the third grade. A wide variety of subjects are included in the curriculum: science, languages, mathematics, computer science, arts and others. Teachers organize studying in an interdisciplinary format, providing students with a connection between disciplines, the application of knowledge in real life.

International Baccalaureate: Middle Years Programme

  • Age of students - from 12 to 16 years,
  • The period of study is four years.

The IB MYP is an academically rigorous curriculum taught in two languages. It includes eight subject groups:

  1. Primary Language: Spanish, English,

  3. Individuals and Society: History, Social Studies and others,
  4. Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics,

Subject groups consist of compulsory and optional courses which are available at standard or advanced levels. This approach continues in middle and high school, helping students gradually prepare for the difficult learning of the final stage of school education: university.

The student can choose the subjects that interest him in order to immerse himself in in-depth study in advance. At the stage of secondary education, they make up a small part of the curriculum, but with the advancement to high school, more and more time is devoted to them.

International Baccalaureate: Diploma Programme

  • Age of students – from 16 to 18 years old,
  • The term of study is two years.

A diploma program is a course, lasting two years. Students who pass it receive a certificate, allowing them to enter top universities around the world.

For two years, students study under an individual curriculum, which include compulsory and optional disciplines of varying degrees of depth studying: standard or advanced. The subjects available for study are combined in the following areas:

  1. Language: Spanish, English,
  2. Foreign Language and Literature: Spanish, English, French,
  3. Individuals and Society: History, Social Studies and others,
  4. Sciences: Biology, Chemistry, Physics,

The student must study three subjects at the standard level, three more at the advanced level, as well as take three mandatory electives: extended essay, theory of knowledge (TOK), and the Creativity, Service, Activity (CAS) program.

LOMCE Baccalaureate Diploma Programme

  • Age of students – from 16 to 18 years old,
  • The term of study is two years.

The LOMCE Baccalaureate high school program is suitable for those students who would like to continue their academic path in university specialties in social sciences or natural sciences, technology. The curriculum includes compulsory and optional subjects, the main emphasis of studying for two years is on the disciplines of the profile areas of the program. Languages are also important: Spanish, English and French - teachers pay special attention to students' fluency, their written expression, and the ability to use vocabulary in different situations.

Upon graduation, the student receives a diploma that opens the doors to many universities of technology, natural and social sciences.

Summer Course: Happy Summer

  • The duration of studying is from one to four weeks.

For children aged 4 months to 3 years, there is the Happy Summer program, focused on immersion in learning two languages: English and Spanish. Pupils attend classes taught in a game format, have a lot of rest in the fresh air, and are engaged in leisure clubs:

Summer Course: Maker & Fun

Students from 3 to 8 years old have access to the Maker & Fun course, offering immersion in various areas of academic and extracurricular development. Classes aimed at developing learning skills:

The Maker & Sports Summer Course combines sports, STEM subjects, and environmental studies in a bilingual environment. In age-adapted groups, teachers promote hands-on learning that helps children gain critical thinking, creativity, and leadership skills.

The program takes place over a period of one to four weeks at the student's choice. Each week stipulates a balanced schedule that includes lessons in specialized laboratories, the creation of digital projects, dancing, various arts and sports. After lessons, students can spend time developing their physical skills:

Summer Course: Discover Your Talent

This summer program accepts all children from 3 to 12 years old, including non-students of SEK International School Atlántico. The curriculum offers pupils to immerse themselves in the study of their individual characteristics, discover talents and find new hobbies:

  • Learning about Canva, Minecraft, Fiction express, Academons, Snappet, Beebots, Bluebots technologies,
  • Children's Rights and Global Citizenship in Programming,
  • Creativity in the lesson,
  • Outdoor training.

Through research on new technologies, students will be able to understand what they enjoy most: coding, drawing, making videos, doing research or learning languages, devoting time to sports or other activities. Teachers give individual attention to each student, allowing him to explore those areas that could be his interests and in the ways that he prefers.

Junior Summer Camp

  • Age of students – from 8 to 13 years,
  • Dates of studying — June-July,
  • Thestudying period is two weeks.

The summer camp program for children focuses on outdoor sports, various water sports, recreational and social activities, as well as immersion in English language learning.

The daily schedule includes three English lessons aimed at mastering basic knowledge and skills: reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary. Teachers are native English speakers, conduct lessons in small groups, allowing children to receive a sufficient amount of individual attention, quickly adapt to the academic environment.

After lessons, students can expect a variety of activities: sailing, rowing, water polo, hiking, musical and theatrical performances, painting master classes and much more. In order to cover all the opportunities offered by the program, students are accommodated in the school residence – two formats are offered: half board and full board. When living in a full-board format, the pupil receives three meals a day based on his preferences, and half board includes two meals.

The course takes place over two weeks on the campus of the SEK International School Atlántico, with the facilities of the partner sports schools and the Rakso Nautical Club also being used.

SEK International School Atlántico is an international school located near Pontevedra, Spain. All levels of the internationally recognized school educational program - International Baccalaureate (IB) are taught here: from primary to high school. Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

Admission requirements depend on which grade the applicant is enrolled in. Foreign candidates must provide personal documents: passport, health insurance, visa or residence permit. Academic grades for the previous few years are required, in addition to them, letters of recommendation from teachers and mentors can be attached. An important aspect of studying at SEK International School Atlántico is bilingualism, so in order to effectively assimilate the educational material, the applicant needs a good level of knowledge in at least one of the two languages: English or Spanish.
