Most recently, Oldham Hulme Grammar School has increased its arts capabilities through expansion: the new building is a great addition to the service, bringing together four spacious study studios on two floors, equipped for engraving, ceramics, film and animation, painting and drafting, a studio for high school and Sixth Form, providing a great exhibition space in the gallery. The building has a modern style that shows a bright and airy atmosphere; full access for students with disabilities is provided on both floors.

The academic year at Oldham Hulme Grammar School is organized in such a way as to maintain a balance between study and leisure. The year lasts 10 months, starting in September and ending in June (in rare cases early July), divided into autumn, spring and summer trimesters. The longest holidays are summer, they last about 2 months.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

  • Kindergarten and junior grades (2-7 years old). Children are encouraged to spend some time at school with their future classmates and tutors: about an hour for toddlers, half a day for prep students, and a full day for students in grades 1-2.
  • Junior School (7-11 years old). Children are invited to spend a day at school with their future classmates: it will be a normal school day, during which they will take two online tests on the Chromebook, one math test and one English language test.
  • High school (11-16 years old). All future students, including those from the lower grades, must pass entrance exams: the exam consists of testing in mathematics and English, a test in oral reasoning. Candidates who have successfully passed the entrance exams are invited for an interview. When selecting candidates for admission, the school takes into account their current school performance and any special circumstances, such as recent changes in health.
  • Sixth Form (16-18 years old). New students are admitted to the co-educational Sixth Form. The minimum requirement is five GCSE subjects with a score of 5 points or higher (a minimum of 5 points in English and Maths). Each candidate in the Sixth Form will be interviewed.

Scholarships Oldham Hulme Grammar Private School

  • Scholarships for 7th grade. are given to those students who have scored the highest overall scores in the entrance exams. All awards are valid for the entire duration of the child's stay at school and are awarded regardless of the parent's income.
  • Sixth Form Student Scholarships for Outstanding GCSE Performance: Applicants who achieve 7-9 GCSE points if the results include at least 5 points in English and Mathematics.
