The Rakotzbrücke Bridge has been stirring people's minds for a long time. This unique building is located in an incredibly beautiful arboretum, being the main attraction of Gablenz , a small German town.
But this bridge is famous not only for its wonderful landscape: according to legend, here a deal was made with the devil himself.

Devil's Bridge Curse
The Rakotzbrücke was built from basalt in the second half of the 19th century near the Polish border. Basalt - a curiosity for these places - was brought from Switzerland . Man-made rocks, grottoes, pyramids that adorn the park territory are made of this material.
No information has been preserved about the architect who erected the bridge, but the legend says that, while building the Rakotzbrücke, he made a deal with the devil in order to complete his creation. The price of the deal is the soul of the first person to cross the bridge. The architect cheated by sending a dog across the bridge, and the evil spirit was deceived. In anger, he threw himself into the water and disappeared. This explains the name of the attraction - " Devil's Bridge ".
Many people really consider the arch of the bridge to be the entrance to the other world: for example, in the 1980s, two male tourists disappeared without a trace.
The peculiarity of the bridge is that it forms an even circle due to a perfectly flat arc.
Being on Rakotzbrück is administratively punishable: no, not because of the danger of pleasing the devil. Everything is much more prosaic: the basalt arch will quickly collapse if tourists often walk along it. However, this does not stop everyone.
