GEMS School Management, together with Infinity Developments, plans to create the first international school in Zanzibar. The project will be part of the Infinity Hills complex, which will include modern housing and infrastructure in the historic area of Stone Town.
An interesting fact: it is this area that has been recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The school will accept the first students from 4 to 18 years old in 2027, they will be offered a curriculum according to English standards. At the start, about 730 people will be studied, gradually their number will increase to 1,500.
The curriculum will focus on digital, science, technology, and mathematics (STEM). The management will monitor not only the quality of education for children and adolescents, but also that all teachers take advanced studying courses, create 100+ jobs for Zanzibaris in the fields of pedagogy, management and administration.
