Summer course of English for students

  • Start dates: July 2 and 16 (arrivals for 2 weeks)
  • Age of students: 12-14 and 15-17 years
  • Class size: up to 16 people maximum.

Students of the summer language camp can choose the desired intensity of the lessons themselves - 15 or 20 hours per week. Complexly improve all the main, key skills and abilities:

  • Grammar
  • Reading
  • Auditing (listening comprehension)
  • Vocabulary (active expansion of vocabulary)
  • Written speech
  • Oral speech (spoken English)
  • Phonetics (correct pronunciation, accent correction)
  • Improve communication skills.

There is an opportunity and connect additional language / academic options to the course (up to 6 hours per week). There is enough time for extra-curricular activities, entertainment and excursions - a trip to the summer camp will be remembered by the children for a long time!

Accommodation, meals, prices

Participants in the summer camp of Guilford University live in the residences of the university directly on the campus: they are cozy, fully equipped and furnished rooms (most often single rooms). Rooms are combined into 10-14 rooms, each block has a common kitchen-living room and bathrooms (the ratio of bedrooms to bathrooms is 4: 1). All students are provided with board meals (three meals plus useful snacks): a healthy, balanced diet is organized even during long excursions and trips around England.

Activities Guilford University Summer Camp

Rich, diverse and interesting extra-curricular life is the visiting card of Oxford International centers. It takes into account the difference of interests of students of different nationalities and different ages, and therefore combine a variety of activities and activities - conditionally the entire list can be divided into 5 categories:

  • sports and active, physical rest
  • competitions, tournaments, contests and quizzes
  • entertainment events on campus for everyone (campfire evenings, discos, bowling, karaoke)
  • quiet evening activities - for example, board games (usually conducted after sightseeing days)
  • mugs, handicraft workshops and sections - for those who want to learn new things!

The staff carefully book a list of activities for each shift, so that the students are most interesting and useful to be in the camp so that they constantly practice English and get to know new friends. Most events (as well as entrance tickets during excursions) are already included in the course price, there are also small additional fees (for example, hiking in a bowling alley or cinema).

The excursion program is one of the most interesting components of the extracurricular course:

  • trips to the nearest county cities with sightseeing tours
  • Visiting the main tourist and natural attractions of Great Britain (by train or bus)
  • two trips to London for the whole day: a visit to Covent Garden, the British Museum, the huge London Eye wheel and local shops, a pedestrian tour of the central part of the capital
  • full day excursion to Oxford - walking through the historic center and visiting Christ Church College
  • two excursions to Guildford (for several hours): an orienteering competition, a photo contest of historical monuments are included.

Facilities and equipment at Guilford University Summer Camp

The territory of Guilford University is well suited for higher education, and for a fun and useful vacation - there is everything that students can need for recreation, accommodation, study, entertainment. The whole territory, green, spacious and well-groomed (there are even two lakes!), Is under the cover of a fast WiFi: in walking distance you can find a bank, pharmacies, numerous cafes and restaurants, shops with food and household trivia.

The city center is just a 10-minute walk from the campus, and London can be quickly and comfortably reached by a direct rail link (as well as to other county and country cities).

The cost of staying in a summer camp depends on the chosen intensity of the course:

  • standard summer course = 1464 £ / 2 weeks
  • intensive summer course of English = 1514 £ / 2 weeks.

This price already includes:

  • English for the program
  • accommodation and meals (campus residences, full board)
  • leisure and entertainment program, sports and excursions
  • initial knowledge level testing and grouping
  • firm certificate at the end of the course.

The indicated cost is not included and is paid additionally:
