Mexico is a country in North America, the territory of a former Spanish colony located on ancient Indian soil. The history of the Mexican people is closely connected with Indian culture, so on the national flag of Mexico and its coat of arms there is an Indian symbol - an eagle with a snake.
Aztec legends say that the tribe roamed in search of a place where it can lead a sedentary life. For a clue, they turned to the supreme god of the Aztecs, the god of the sun and war, Uitsilopochtli. The shamans conveyed the god's answer: look for a rocky place, an eagle tearing apart a snake on top of a cactus. The Aztecs found such an eagle and founded the first temple on this place.
The Mexican coat of arms is decorated with an eagle with a snake in its beak on the top of the prickly ebulvania. The Mexicans placed the coat of arms in the center of the flag, in the middle of a white stripe, which symbolizes the purity of thoughts. The stripes on the flag are vertical, in the center - white, on the left - green, symbolizes the fertility of the Mexican land. On the right is a red stripe that tells of the blood shed for freedom.
