Summer Camp Duke of York School is based in Dover, a beautiful, small and cozy port city 125 kilometers from London. Duke of York Royal Military School is a prestigious and advanced school of mixed education: the children of the military, who are in the service of the United Kingdom, study here. The educational institution was founded in 1803, summer courses for students from all over the world are held here since 1971. Each change of the summer camp is attended by up to 220 people from different countries of the world.
The minimum level of English for enrollment is any, from elementary. In the summer camp children from 11 to 17 years are accepted: two age groups (11-14 and 15-17 years) are formed, in accordance with which the curriculum and leisure-entertainment program are developed.
Every week, 20 English language lessons are waiting for students (45 minutes each). The universal course is focused on the development of all basic, key language skills:
Classes are formed in small, up to 15 people in each: students receive the proper amount of personal attention from teachers and mentors, an individual approach is practiced. The ratio of teachers and students is 1: 8.
On the first day, all students undergo initial testing, which also affects their distribution to the appropriate group according to their level of knowledge - from Elementary to Advanced. After the completion of the course, each student receives a corporate certificate of the summer school, in which all achievements and the achieved level of English are recorded.
In addition, students can choose the course of preparation for the Trinity exams (in colloquial English). The program works in the 1st and 3rd week of the summer school and is paid additionally.
Arrivals and departures in the camp are held on Sundays. Arrival of new groups is carried out on 9, 16, 23 and 30 July + 6 August (weekly check-in).
All participants of summer courses live in comfortable residences of the school. This is a fully furnished and equipped common room (each designed for 6 people) with shared facilities - in common use are also laundry, games rooms, cozy living rooms with upholstered furniture and TV. Free Wi-Fi is available.
Three meals a day is organized in the common spacious school cafeteria: it is a balanced, varied, useful and tasty diet with lots of hot dishes, soups, fresh vegetables and fruits.

Each week, students are waited 1 trip for the whole day and one small excursion for several hours. Student groups visit London and its attractions, Dover Castle, Canterbury, Brighton, Margaret, Cambridge and other unique cities and monuments of Great Britain.
Despite its modest size (there are about 30 thousand people in Dover today), it is an important port center and famous for its historical and cultural monuments. Here is one of the largest in the UK ancient castle, as well as the legendary White rocks: they can be seen even from the coast of France in clear weather, why the French call England Albion.
