What makes British schools so popular with families around the world?

There are many different schools in Britain: on the one hand, there are the oldest, traditional boarding schools, where world leaders, famous politicians, economists and scientists have been educated for hundreds of years. On the other hand, Britain today has some of the most modern independent schools and colleges you can find! This provides a wide range of choices for any parent - a school can be found that perfectly matches the individual needs and ambitions of the child. Combined with a unique British history and the fact that Britain is home to English - the world's language of science and business - this makes the UK one of the best options for studying abroad.

Review about Mill Hill School

Oleg B.
(07.12.2021)
We sent our son to study at Mill Hill after 9th grade. Initially, we were looking for a school not far from London, but the international college option for foreigners didn’t suit us. We wanted a classic school with its own grounds so that the child could really get a feel for the atmosphere — that was exactly why we were sending him. In this respect, Mill Hill turned out to be the most suitable choice. The school is situated near the town, has a genuinely vast territory, and offers plenty of clubs and extracurricular activities! There is also a department for international students with additional English support! That was very important for us, since the child had standard school English, and we only started with a tutor right before admission. (A separate thank-you to Smart Products and Services for finding the tutor.) The number of additional English classes is adjusted depending on the level. If the child brings the language up to a sufficient level, the extra English can be cancelled.

I want to express my gratitude to Smart Products and Services for helping choose the school and for recommending Mill Hill! The school is excellent; studies are not easy, they don’t let you relax, but that’s actually good! A fly in the ointment – we had to get used to the local food and to sharing a room with international children; at first our child had adaptation problems, but the houseparent at the school helped smooth the process!

Our child studied at Mill Hill for the past two years on the A-level programme. We transferred from another English school located near Cardiff (we got fed up with getting there). We were satisfied with the school. It has an international department, so in principle it is possible to apply straight after school abroad. But we joined the general department because our child no longer needed extra English. I would also like to thank the Smart Products and Services agent for finding a guardian! We really appreciated the accommodation arrangements during holidays and the way our child was treated!

An excellent school! Wonderful, experienced teachers and boarding staff!! Our son has been studying here for a second year, and so far we are very pleased with the school’s approach to learning. I would particularly like to mention the high level of support for international schoolchildren! The teachers are genuinely very experienced and can bring almost any child up to standard, even if their English level is low. Ours was A2 before admission. We regret that we didn’t take care of this in advance and didn’t start preparing the child a couple of years before admission — that would have been easier, of course! But now progress in the language is already evident; whereas at first there were difficulties understanding the material in class, now there is no longer this problem.
