Abderrahmane Mira University of Bejaia (UAMB) is a multidisciplinary public institution of higher education. UAMB was founded in 1983, but received the status of a university only in 1998. In recent years, the number of students is kept at around 44,000 people, the teaching staff has about 1715 teachers.

UAMB consists of eight specialized faculties:

UAMB consists of four campuses with a capacity of 52,100 academic places. The largest of the campuses is Considered to be Abudau - 29,000 seats in classrooms, laboratories and recreation rooms.

The University of Bejaji currently has about 30 research laboratories approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. The laboratories cover several areas of study, from system modeling and optimization to applied microbiology.
