Weston College is one of the best further education colleges in the United Kingdom, offering a wide range of programmes: GCSE, A-Level and T-Level, as well as more than 50 apprenticeship courses across various specialisations.

The predecessor of Weston College, the National School, opened its doors in 1845 to 320 students. In the following decades, it underwent major reforms, transitioning at times to all-female education and then switching to a mixed-gender format. The now well-known Weston College settled on its campus in 1965–1970, and from April 1993 became an autonomous public educational institution. In 2025, the college celebrated 180 years of existence, having opened new academic buildings ten years before the anniversary and received university centre status in partnership with the University of West of England.

Thanks to its various specialist courses, the college trains a large number of professionals — around 30 000 students are enrolled at Weston College at any one time. The majority of the community receives education online: this includes a flexible curriculum, an extensive range of additional resources, and full support from teachers and advisors. Students studying in person are distributed across three academic campuses and three additional learning centres.

Many Weston College courses are available in an online format: this is fully distance learning using a modern platform, where students will find chats with teachers and classmates, an extensive range of academic resources and self-study materials, and round-the-clock support on any question.

Weston College offers dozens of specializations: from engineering, environmental protection, and hairdressing to healthcare, law, and public services. They are distributed across education levels:

Students enrolled in university-level programs are housed in the residential complex of partner organization Parkside House. The residences include single and double studios, fully furnished apartments with all necessary amenities: bathroom, small kitchen, high-speed WiFi. Shared facilities available to residents include a dance studio, gym, two laundry rooms, and covered bicycle parking.

Students in engineering programs typically book rooms at The Propeller Quarter — a complex located in Bristol, near one of the college's campuses. The building offers apartments of various capacities: studios, classic rooms with 3-4-5 separate bedrooms and shared amenities, and communal apartments. Common-use areas in the building include laundry rooms, a games room, restaurant, cinema room, creative studios, a yoga room, and more.

The main focus of extracurricular development at Weston College is sports. The specialist academy at the college organises professional training with experienced coaches, offering students high-level sports preparation and participation in large-scale competitions. Currently, classes are held in three sports: football, netball, and rugby, with cricket to be added within the coming year.

Thanks to partnerships with professional clubs, Weston College students have the opportunity to continue developing their sporting skills within active teams:

Weston College has three main campuses and three learning centers outside the campuses:

• Knightstone Campus — the main buildings housing professional workshops and studios, administrative offices, sports facilities, and the college's central library,
• Loxton Campus —  studio spaces for artists and designers, musicians, dancers, and students of advertising, media, television and film industry programs,
• South West Skills Campus — a high-tech engineering facility with automotive workshops, welding shops, and technical simulators.

Weston College Learning Centers:

• Winter Gardens — a historic complex located on the seafront: includes lecture halls, digital labs, self-study and project work areas,
• Health and Sports Skills Center — a training facility for future medical and sports professionals: classrooms with simulation wards, hospital bays, and diagnostic laboratories,
• Animal Care Center — a countryside academic complex in Puxton Park: veterinary rooms, enclosures, and specialized ecology and zoology laboratories.

Under the college's leadership, an aerospace academy operates, created in partnership with Airbus and GKN Aerospace, in Filton: here, future specialists in civil/military aviation undergo practical training.

The academic calendar consists of trimesters:

The class schedule and number of school days vary depending on the chosen program. In general, in-person classes are held Monday through Friday; students rest on weekends and public holidays.

Thanks to a wide range of partner organizations, collaboration with universities, and effective internship practice in each program, graduates successfully enter the job market or enroll in their chosen higher education institution.

All applicants arriving from abroad must have a passport, medical insurance, a visa or residence permit in order to study in the United Kingdom. Depending on the chosen program, they should provide:
