The educational activities of the institute are carried out in two educational buildings equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology: projectors, screens and computers with audio and video systems.
Cadets are given free access to the general library of the institute with a reading room for 36 seats. The library fund contains more than 51,000 printed publications.

In VI FSIN, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the cadets who are on state support, they are granted vacation leave.
