Voronezh Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation, VI FSIN

The Institute was founded in 2001 in the city of Voronezh.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, drill educayion and professional practice.

The educational process is organized at the following faculties:

• Juridical
• Engineering,
• Vocational education and additional professional education,
• Extra-budgetary education,
• Education of scientific and pedagogical personnel.

The institute conducts research activities in the following areas:

• Methods and systems of information security, information security in the penal system,
• Mathematical modeling, numerical methods and software complexes,
• Radio engineering support for the activities of the penitentiary system,
• Study of the problems of regulatory and legal support for the activities of engineering and technical units of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia,
• Conducting scientific research on topical issues of academic disciplines taught at the university.

The university conducts international cooperation with the following organizations:

• Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus,
• Mogilev Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus,
• Kostanay Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan named after Shrakbek Kabylbayev,
• Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The university provides nonresident full-time cadets with one five-story dormitory for 388 seats.

For meals for cadets and employees, the university has 2 canteens for 285 seats and a buffet for 50 seats.

To involve cadets in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

The educational activities of the institute are carried out in two educational buildings equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology: projectors, screens and computers with audio and video systems.

Cadets are given free access to the general library of the institute with a reading room for 36 seats. The library fund contains more than 51,000 printed publications.

For sports, the VI FSIN has the following facilities:

• GYM ground.

In VI FSIN, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the cadets who are on state support, they are granted vacation leave.

For admission to the institute, you must provide:

• Proof of identity, citizenship,
• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications,
• Confirmation of registration in the system of individual (personalized) accounting (if any),
• Reference 086-U.

If necessary, the applicant also provides:

• Proof of use of the right to admission within a special quota,
• Confirmation of individual achievements, the results of which are taken into account at admission,
• Proof of disability or disability.

The necessary package of documents is provided to the university:

At the moment, more than 1000 cadets are studying at the Voronezh Institute of the Federal Penitentiary Service.

After graduating from the institute, graduates are awarded an officer rank, and they are suitable for further service in the Federal Penitentiary Service of the Russian Federation.

For admission to bachelor's and specialist's educational programs, an applicant must:

• Completed education not lower than secondary general,
• Points received for the exam are not lower than:
  • Mathematics — 27,
  • Physics — 36,
  • Russian language — 36,
  • Social Studies — 42,
  • History — 32,

For admission to master's programs, you must:

• Completed higher education,
• Successful completion of university entrance examinations with scores of at least 50.

For admission to postgraduate programs, you must:

• Completed higher education,
• Successful completion of entrance examinations with scores of at least 3:
  • Special discipline,
  • Foreign language.

The following types of scholarships are distinguished:

• of the President of the Russian Federation,
• Government of the Russian Federation,
• named after G. R. Derzhavin.

In addition, the university provides a monthly allowance for cadets belonging to a vulnerable category of citizens.
