The Volkhov branch of the Herzen State Pedagogical University was established on September 5, 1997.

The learning process includes:

• a course of lectures and seminars,
• practical exercises,
• passage of educational, industrial and pre-diploma practices.

There are two graduating departments in the RSPU Branch:

• Liberal arts education and pedagogical technologies,
• Economic education.

Nonresident students are given the opportunity to settle in a dormitory.

For meals for students and staff, there is a canteen with 85 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the Volkhov branch of the Herzen State Pedagogical University organizes and takes part in the following events:

The educational activities of the Volkhov branch of the Herzen State Pedagogical University are conducted in the educational and administrative building. The building houses classrooms and rooms for independent work, classrooms are equipped with modern multimedia and computer equipment, practical classrooms are equipped with information stands and technical equipment for practicing professional skills.

Students are given free access to the library.

For sports, the branch has a gym.

At the RSPU Branch in Volkhov, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and in August).
