The Academy was founded in 1960 in Volgograd on the basis of the Stalingrad State Institute of Physical Culture.

Facilities and equipment at Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture, VGAFK

The educational process takes place on the basis of four educational and scientific buildings with classrooms for theoretical classes. All classrooms have modern material and technical equipment: projectors, screens and computers. The Academy provides for education:

  • Educational and sports building for athletics;
  • The body of the complex swimming pool (open and closed type);
  • More than 10 gyms;
  • Football field;
  • Tennis courts;
  • Basketball and volleyball courts.

Also, students are given access to the educational and scientific library for 79 seats.

Admission dates and extra charges

The educational process in the year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

When studying at VGAFK, students incur the following additional costs:

  • to pay for accommodation in a dormitory;
  • Transport;
  • for foodstuffs;
  • for leisure and recreation.

Enrolment process

For admission to the academy, you must provide:

  • Identity document, citizenship;
  • State-issued document on education and qualifications;
  • Documents confirming the use of the right to admission within a special quota;
  • Documents confirming individual achievements, the results of which are taken into account at admission;
  • A document confirming registration in the individual accounting system (if any);
  • 2 photographs (for those entering the education based on the results of entrance examinations conducted by the Academy independently).

The necessary package of documents is provided to the university:

  • By mail;
  • In person to the admissions office;
  • Through EPGU.

At the moment, more than 1200 undergraduate and graduate students are studying at the academy.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

For admission to undergraduate educational programs, you must:

  • Completed education is not lower than secondary general;
  • Points received for the exam are not lower than:
    • Russian language — 40;
    • Social Studies — 45;
    • Biology — 39.
  • Passing the entrance test in physical education, which is conducted independently by the academy.

For admission to master's programs, you must:

  • Completed higher education;
  • Successful completion of the entrance examinations of the university with scores not lower than those established independently by the academy.

For admission to postgraduate programs, you must:

  • Completed higher education;
  • Successful completion of entrance examinations, with a score of at least 40:
    • Special discipline;
    • Philosophy;
    • Foreign language.

Scholarships Volgograd State Academy of Physical Culture, VGAFK

As material support for students, the university allocates the following scholarships for students:

  • State academic - 1880 rubles per month;
  • State social - 2820 rubles per month;
  • Graduate students - 3690 rubles per month;
  • Increased state academic scholarship for students with achievements in any one or more fields of activity - 6000 rubles per month.

In addition, the university provides financial assistance to those in need.
