Description of University of Žilina
The University of Žilina (abbreviated UTC ) or Žilinská univerzita v Žiline is an educational institution of the state type that has been active in scientific and academic activities in Slovakia since the beginning of the distant 1953. Currently, UTC University within the small town of Slovakia - Zilina - has its own campus.
Being a medium-sized institution of higher education, the University of ilina accommodates more than 14 thousand students. The university teaches about 699 teachers. The school cooperates with other universities on student exchange issues. The university is represented on the following Linkedin social networks .
Faculties and colleges
Training is conducted at six faculties and two institutes, and in total the university offers 203 accredited educational programs. The main areas of study are transport, engineering, management, marketing, and the humanities.
Scientific achievements
The university develops technology transfer and innovative infrastructure through the Technology Transfer Center (CTT UNIZA), which supports the implementation of research results into practice, assists with assessing the market potential of developments and creating spin-offs and startups, as well as the UNIZA Technology Incubator (TI UNIZA). The center operates a PATLIB patent information point, which provides consultations on the industrial-legal protection of technical solutions and inventions. The coordination of research activities and the training of scientific personnel is handled by the Department of Science and Research.
