What are the most popular majors among students currently?

Business remains popular, but engineering and IT are quickly gaining ground. Activities University Canada West

At University Canada West, great attention is paid to life beyond the classroom. Student events and activities are managed by the Student Life team, which is part of Student Affairs and Services. The main goal of these events is to make learning more engaging, help international students settle into the university, and create a friendly community. One of the first events for newcomers is New Student Orientation — an introductory program before the start of the semester: newcomers get acquainted with the campus, the learning system, faculty, and support services. For comfortable integration, the Peer2Peer program operates, where experienced students help new students settle into the university and life in Vancouver: meetings, informal events, and thematic discussions are organized, along with advice on studies, city life, and career planning.

In addition to traditional sources, students have access to electronic databases and online resources.

  • After the documents are reviewed, the university issues a Letter of Acceptance, and the applicant pays a deposit. At this same stage, a Provincial Attestation Letter is issued.

Perspectives

Graduates of University Canada West typically find employment quickly after completing their programs: about 93% of MBA graduates were employed within six months of receiving their diplomas.

The university is a Designated Learning Institution, so students who successfully complete full-time programs can obtain a Post‑Graduation Work Permit — a permit to work in Canada after their studies. Those who study entirely online are not eligible for a PGWP.

During their studies, international students with a valid student visa can work up to 20 hours per week: the university regularly holds job fairs and press conferences with employers.

All university graduates become part of a global network: through Alumni Engagement Services, they gain access to events, master classes, panels, networking, and professional development opportunities.

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

To enroll at University Canada West, a student needs a high school diploma or the equivalent of Canadian Grade 12 with a minimum average grade of C. If the education was not obtained in English, the student must confirm their language proficiency with an international test: TOEFL iBT — 88, PTE Academic — 61, Duolingo English Test — 110, or CAEL — 70.

The document package must include official academic transcripts and certificates from all educational institutions previously attended by the applicant, proof of school completion (if not indicated in the transcript), a notarized translation of documents into English, and a copy of the passport or other identification document. For some programs, especially master's programs, a resume (CV) may be required.

If the English level does not yet meet the university's requirements, an international applicant can first complete the ESL Pathway Program or a preparatory academic English course, and then proceed to the main program.

Scholarships University Canada West

At University Canada West, international students can apply for several main grants and scholarships:

  • Regional Grant 2026 is available to Master of Business Administration students. It can be received by international applicants from China, South Korea, the Philippines, Vietnam, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and other countries, as well as international students who have been residing in Canada for at least one year. The grant amount depends on the number of credits. To receive the grant, it is important to start the program on time, not change it after the start, and complete the full course while maintaining good academic standing.
  • Rising Scholars Grant is intended for students in the Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Arts in Business Communications programs. Recipients are selected from the same countries as for the Regional Grant, including international students who have been residing in Canada for at least one year. The grant amount is calculated based on the number of credits. The conditions are similar to the Regional Grant: starting the program on time, completing the full course, and maintaining a high academic level.

There are other scholarships and grants as well, but they are mainly designed for Canadian students: Access to Education Grant is available only to Canadian citizens or permanent residents, Lytton Scholarship covers full MBA tuition for candidates from Lytton. Nurturing Wisdom Grant is intended for Indigenous applicants, while University Canada West Founder’s Scholarship, Vancouver Canucks Alumni Foundation Grant, and Gino Odjick Grant provide partial or full coverage of tuition costs for specific groups, including Indigenous peoples.

It is important for international students to remember: you can only apply for one grant or scholarship. They are provided as a tuition credit; for most automatic grants, a separate application is not required, but it is important to maintain good academic standing and complete the full course.

The best to immigrate is to get a student visa. First, you should choose and apply to the Canadian institution.

(review of university canada west)

An excellent MBA program with an affordable price (lower than in the USA and TOP quality).

It lasts 2 years, the teachers are very professional, there are many invited specialists (almost every two weeks) with lectures and business meetings. A good option to improve English (but, of course, not for beginners). The university itself is comfortable, new, modern, everything is there for effective studying. I advise you to stay in a hotel, even if the residence is cheaper: there will be more time and opportunities for quiet classes in silence. A lot of additional reading, large amounts of information.
