Tuscany-Poggio Summer School is a summer school in Italy that conducts spring and summer English courses. They are available to students from 10 to 17 years old, while the level of initial knowledge is absolutely not important - the programs divide students into groups and adapt to their skills. The teaching staff of the organization has CELTA or TEFL qualifications, as well as more than three years of teaching young students English.

The basics of the curricula are:

Accommodation, meals, prices

Students are provided with full board for the duration of their course. Students are accommodated in cozy rooms, where sleeping and working places are equipped. Bathrooms and toilets are most often shared, but they are used by a minimum of students - up to five.

With full board, residents are provided with three meals a day, including breakfast, lunch and dinner on campus, as well as packed lunches on field trips.

The curriculum includes a variety of activities: creative master classes, sports competitions, movie and board game evenings, talent shows. Students will be able to fully enjoy the beauties surrounding the campus, explore the sights of the region on field trips:

  • Half a day in San Grimignano,
  • Full day in Viareggio with a walking tour of the beaches,
  • A full day in Lucca with bike rides,
  • Half day in San Vivaldo with a picnic.

Facilities and equipment at Tuscany-Poggio Summer School, Tuscany Summer School

The campus where the summer course takes place is located in the small village of Poggio, in Central Italy. It is special for its natural beauty, local farms and a small population of just over 300 people.

One of the main rules of the programs is to use only modern approaches to learning. Therefore, a variety of equipment has been installed in the classrooms for exciting lessons, with which even the youngest students can interact.

On the territory there is also a boarding house with a dining room in which students eat and relax, sports and walking grounds.

Admission dates and extra charges

Students can choose between two duration options: one or two weeks.

The price already includes all the necessary services: full board, activities on campus and excursions, educational materials. Additionally, you must pay a registration fee upon admission - 284 €.

Enrolment process

The admissions committee expects several important documents from applicants: passport, medical insurance, student visa or residence permit. Initial knowledge of the English language is tested on campus at the time of enrollment and does not affect admission.

Perspectives

Graduates of the programs are awarded certificates and reports on their hard work for several weeks: the lights contain information about the lessons attended and their number, teacher ratings and the progress that the student has received during the entire period of study.  Certificates will help students prove their language level when further enrolling in institutions or obtaining a long-term visa.

- for Foundation and Pathway programs, IELTS and TOEFL certificates are usually required, respectively

- the deadline normally closes in January, for TOP HEIs and, as a rule, in March in other universities
- for a bachelor, a Foundation or Pathway preparatory program a completed A-level, IB, High School + IELTS / TOEFL are required
- for Masters you need a graduated higher education, in some cases you need a pre-Masters program
- MBA requires completed higher education, work experience preferably at least 2-3 years, etc.
