The Institute was founded in 1967 in the city of Stavropol.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

In 2012, the institute became the winner of the competition "Gold Medal "European Quality" in the nomination "100 Best Universities and Research Institutes of Russia".

The university provides nonresident full-time students with 2 dormitories for 160 places.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a canteen for 100 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

The educational process takes place in a single educational building, equipped with classrooms for lectures, seminars and practical classes. The classrooms are equipped with the necessary modern equipment: projectors, screens, electronic boards and laptops.

Students are given free access to the library with a reading room for 100 seats.

For sports, the institute has a gymnasium and an outdoor stadium of a wide profile with elements of an obstacle course.

At SSPI, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

Upon completion of training, students become qualified specialists in the field of pedagogy, in demand in the labor market. To simplify the job search, graduates can contact the department of organization of practical training and employment of graduates, which works on the basis of the institute.

For admission to bachelor's and specialist's educational programs, an applicant must:
