GSGU was founded on November 15, 1939.

The learning process includes:

GSGU provides nonresident students and teachers with 2 dormitories for 724 beds in 244 rooms. For meals for students and staff, a canteen for 80 seats is equipped.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, GSGU organizes and participates in the following events:

The educational process of GSGU takes place in a single educational and administrative building. The building houses classrooms for classes, specialized rooms and computer classes. The classrooms are equipped with marker and chalk boards, multimedia equipment, computer equipment and laboratory equipment.

Students are given free access to the GSU library.

Sports facilities:

At GSGU, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and in August).
