St. Nicholas Ugresh Theological Seminary harmoniously combines the traditions of spiritual enlightenment and modern education in the learning process. During the years of study, pupils learn and form skills that are the basis of the church ministry of future pastors. Graduates of the Seminary are active preachers of Christianity.

Educational process

The implementation of the educational program at the Seminary includes the following forms: lectures, practical and seminar classes, extracurricular activities.

In the seminary, students undergo five types of practices:

The Seminary consists of 3 departments:

  • ecclesiastical and practical disciplines,
  • history and humanities,
  • biblical and theological disciplines.

Scientific achievements

Students and teachers of the Seminary regularly take part in church scientific conferences and theological readings in Moscow and other cities of Russia. Based on the results of conferences and scientific activities of teachers, scientific collections are published - for example, "Ugresh Collection".

The seminary is the organizer of the citywide family festival "The Savior on Ugresh".

All students of the Seminary during their studies live on the territory of the St. Nicholas Ugreshsky Male Stauropegial Monastery. For the students of the Seminary, all comfortable living and studying conditions have been created, meals are organized in the refectory of the monastery.

Particular attention in the Seminary is paid to the cultural development of pupils: trips to the Russian North are organized, where students participate in divine services and catechetical conversations.

Special attention is paid to the physical health of the pupils: a gym with exercise equipment is open on the territory of the Seminary, and eduaction  in the pool is organized.

It has its own football team, team members regularly take part in competitions of different levels.

There is an intellectual club "What? Where is? When? on Ugresh".

Admission dates and extra charges

At Seminary, the academic year is divided into two semesters: Fall and Spring. The school year begins in the first half of September. The educatinal sessions are held according to the schedule of a six-day working week. The beginning of classes is in accordance with the schedule of study groups.

At the end of each semester, an examination session is held. Students are provided with vacation weekends: winter (January) and summer (July-August).

Enrolment process

Acceptance of documents for full-time study at the Seminary begins on June 20 of the current year. At the same time, an applicant can apply for 2 areas of study. Deadlines for accepting documents for state-funded places:

  • Until July 20 - for persons entering on the basis of the results of entrance examinations conducted by the seminary independently;
  • Until July 20 - for persons applying for the results of the exam.

The publication of the enrollment order is August 5.
