Reception Class

In the first school year, children go through the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum: children develop in an interdisciplinary approach, aimed at broadening their horizons, increasing their levels of independence and learning. The main academic skills they learn are:

Pre-Prep

  • The age of students is from 6-7 years old.
  • The duration of studying is 2 years.

For two years, children study basic academic subjects, including mathematics, English, science. Almost all disciplines are taught by a class teacher, and additional lessons are taught by subject teachers: French, art, dance, physical education.

Every school day, for half an hour, children attend individual classes conducted by Learning Support staff – these lessons are free and help kids to unleash their full academic potential and overcome the difficulties that arise.

Prep

  • The age of students is from 9 years old.
  • The term of study is 4 years. 

The well-being and comfort of students at this academic stage is the responsibility of classroom teachers who prepare boys and girls for the transition to high school. They complete the National Curriculum in conjunction with additional disciplines that follow current global challenges. Educational process at St Hilary's School is divided into three stages:
