The university was founded in 1956 in the city of Novosibirsk. At the moment, SibUPK is the only university of consumer cooperatives in the Urals, Siberia and the Far East.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The university provides nonresident full-time students with 3 dormitories of corridor and sectional type (1188 in total). The cost of living per month is from 2900 to 3100 rubles.

For meals for students and staff, the university has one dining room for 570 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

The education process takes place on the basis of 5 buildings, equipped with classrooms for practical and laboratory, lectures and seminars. Classrooms are equipped with new modern technology: projectors, screens, computers, electronic whiteboards and laboratory equipment.

Students are given free access to the library system with a reading room for 380 people. 

For sports, the university has a sports unit, a sports hall and a stadium.

At SibUPK, the learning process is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

To enter the university, you must provide:

• Identity card, citizenship;
• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications;
• Proof of use of the right to admission within a special quota;
• Confirmation of individual achievements, the results of which are taken into account when admitting;
• Confirmation of registration in the system of individual (personalized) accounting (if any);
• SNILS (if any).

The necessary package of documents is provided to the university:

• In person to the admissions office;
• Through EPGU.

At the moment, more than 8300 undergraduate and graduate students are studying at the university.

After graduation, in order to simplify the employment procedure, the graduate can apply to the Employment Assistance Department, which operates at the university.

For admission to bachelor's and specialist's educational programs, an applicant must:

• Completed education is not lower than secondary general;
• Points received for the exam are not lower than:
  • Mathematics — 27;
  • Physics — 36;
  • Informatics and ICT — 40;
  • Russian language — 36;
  • Social Studies — 42;
  • History — 32;
  • Biology — 36.

For admission to master's programs, you must:

• Completed higher education;
• Successful completion of university entrance examinations with scores of at least 40.

For admission to postgraduate programs, you must:

• Completed higher education;
• Successful completion of entrance examinations with scores of at least 3:
  • Special discipline;
  • Philosophy;
  • Foreign language.

As material support for students, the university allocates the following types of scholarships for students:
