The branch was established in 2000 in the city of Novoshakhtinsk.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is organized in the following departments:

• Management and Economics,
• Informatics and mathematicians,
• Social Work and Teacher Education.

The branch is engaged in research activities in the following priority areas:

• Formation of personality in the conditions of education,
• Transitivity of social problems: value prerequisites and prospects of social security,
• Formation of investment and innovation potential of territories,
• Development of the theory of creating subject-oriented systems.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a canteen.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

• An evening dedicated to the work of Vladimir Mayakovsky,
• Competition for filling vacant positions of teaching staff,
• Competition of final qualification works using the 1C platform,
• Puppet show within the framework of the social project "Small Roles – Great Opportunities",

The educational process is based on two educational buildings equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory work. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology: projectors, screens, laptops and interactive whiteboards.

Students are given free access to the library with a fund of 17,000 copies.

For sports, the branch has a gym and an outdoor sports ground.

The academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

For admission to the NSF SFU, you must provide:
