The branch was established in 1995 in the city of Gelendzhik.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is organized at the Department of Natural Sciences and Humanities.

The SFedU branch conducts research activities in the following areas:

• Study of the possibility of using iron-manganese nodules as components of composite nanomaterials for tribological purposes,
• Study of tribological methods of energy and resource saving based on nanoscale composite compositions of natural origin,
• Advanced robotics,
• Automatic and automated control systems for technological processes and production,
• Modern technologies and methods of research of the coastal-shelf zones of the South of Russia and the Arctic,
• Modern technology of management of socio-economic systems,
• Semantics, communicative features and conceptual sphere of linguistic and paralinguistic phenomena of advertising and tourist texts,
• Improvement of linguistic, communicative and cultural competencies among students of technical universities,
• Social, political, ethno-confessional history of Weimar Germany; gender history of Germany.

The SFedU branch has facilities for free visits by people with disabilities and disabilities.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a buffet.

The educational process takes place on the basis of one educational building, equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory work. The classrooms are equipped with modern necessary equipment: projectors, screens, computers and interactive whiteboards.

Students are given free access to the scientific and educational library of the branch.

For sports, the university has a gym.

At the SFedU branch in Gelendzhik, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each of them, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
