School No. 71 was founded in 1971, since 1999 it began to engage in innovative and experimental activities, so in 1999 it was awarded the title of Federal Experimental Site. In 2011, the school began to provide distance learning. Today, a project on distance education of children with disabilities is being implemented, a comfortable environment for children with disabilities is being created.
Graduates of the school traditionally show good results in the Unified State Examination: in 2013, the general educational institution took first place in the city according to the results of the exam in Russian, the third - in mathematics.
School number 71 is the largest in the city. In 2015, 17 parallels were launched, and a year later - in 2016 - the school broke its own record: there were 20 parallels.

The school implements the All-Russian project “Cultural norm of a schoolboy”, the purpose of which is to engage students in the cultural environment by visiting cultural institutions and exploring cultural information resources.
During the year, students attend institutions, participate in activities, study resources, and at the end they must share their impressions in a paper or electronic diary. Also, at the end of the year, the cultural standard is passed directly. Students who successfully pass the test are awarded with a gold, silver or bronze badge of distinction of the All-Russian cultural and educational project “Cultural normative of a schoolboy”.
