School named after A.M. Gorchakova was founded and opened in 1999 and from the very first days of its existence, the legendary Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum proclaimed its prototype. This choice is by no means accidental - the school considers its mission to revive lyceum traditions and develop a network of private educational institutions with a view to positive changes in the public life of the country, organizing and implementing an educational process that meets the requirements of modernity and combining intellectual, emotional, material and other resources for creating a school of "lyceum" type.
The school offers programs from grades 5 to 11, but learning is available only for boys. The educational institution brings up the true leaders of the new time, able to find non-standard ways of solving problems, to change the world and the surrounding reality for the better.
School named after A.M. Gorchakov in the preparation of educational programs is guided by the requirements and standards of the federal education system with the involvement of the best achievements of Russian and foreign pedagogical science. The school considers as its prototype the Tsarskoye Selo Lyceum and seeks to revive and nurture a new generation of lyceum-type educational institutions.
Compulsory subjects of the school program: literature, Russian language, computer science and ICT, visual arts, geometry, geography, biology, English, algebra, drawing, chemistry, physical education, physics, technology, music, mathematics, social studies, life style, history, second foreign language tongue. Students learn foreign languages in depth, while priority / most interesting subjects are studied in depth. In the 8th and 9th grades there is an active preparation for passing the final exams and transition to a new level of education.
In the 10th and 11th grades, pupils are active for passing final exams and entering higher educational institutions. The program of general secondary education includes the study of a number of compulsory disciplines that give full and extensive development of knowledge and skills. In addition, adolescents in-depth study of foreign languages and subjects that they choose to pass on the exam. All students attend special consultations on the choice of preferred areas of development and studying, teachers help students to determine for themselves the priority sciences, universities and specialties.
Much attention is paid to the development of creative and analytical thinking: all students participate in special group and individual works and projects, many are successful in educational, creative and sports activities, occupy prizes in regional, Russian and international competitions. At the end of grade 11, the All-Russian Exam (USE) is held, the results of which are of great importance for the subsequent process of entering the university.
The school provides its pupils with the opportunity to live on campus in comfortable single or double rooms (there are 54 places available). Each room has its own bathroom, internet, television, security and safety systems. Students live on campus from Monday to Saturday, on Saturday afternoon, students go home, from where they return on Sunday evening or on Monday morning.
All students are provided with good nutrition five times a day, there is always a lot of fresh vegetables and fruits in the diet.
