The Russian Academy of Advocacy and Notaries was founded on December 30, 1997 as an educational organization that supports the best educational standards and traditions for training highly qualified lawyers. The founders of the Academy are the Guild of Russian Lawyers, the Federal Chamber of Lawyers of the Russian Federation, the Moscow City Notary Chamber and the Non-Profit Partnership "Central House of Lawyers".

Educational process

The organization of the educational process at the institute is carried out in accordance with the schedules of classes and educational programs approved annually. 

Faculties and colleges

The structure of the institution includes the Faculty of Law, which includes 3 departments:

  1. advocacy and criminal law disciplines;
  2. fundamental jurisprudence and international law;
  3. notary and civil law disciplines.

The structure of the Academy also consists of the RAAN College, which trains mid-level specialists; higher advanced training courses for lawyers and notaries of the Russian Federation; Center for training applicants for the acquisition of the status of a lawyer; Institute of Mediation of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

Scientific achievements

Every year, the Academy provides the necessary scientific and methodological assistance to the legislative, executive and judicial authorities, various institutions and organizations.

Regularly from the pen of scientific and pedagogical workers of the RAAS come popular monographs, textbooks and manuals, scientific articles and other publications on topical problems of legal science and practice.

Things to know about

In 2019, the Institute of Mediation appeared in the structure of the RAAN. Its main goal is to help develop alternative methods of dispute resolution in the territory of the Russian Federation, partnership business relations, form the ethics of business turnover, and harmonize social relations.

In order to prepare a highly cultured personality erudite in matters of art, literature, painting, music, theater, the Academy organizes leisure activities through various organizational structures of extracurricular independent work - in public associations, student self-government bodies.

Facilities and equipment at Russian Academy of Advocacy and Notaries, RAAN

Educational activities of the RAAN are carried out at the address: Moscow, Maly Poluyaroslavsky lane, 3/5, building 1 (does not have branches)." The building is a 6-minute walk from the metro stations "Chkalovskaya" and "Kurskaya" in a picturesque area of the city. The educational and administrative building of the Academy is located in the Central House of Lawyers and covers an area of 2750 square meters.

The material and technical base of the Institute of Economics and Culture includes:

  • lecture halls equipped with video projection equipment for presentations, playback facilities, screen and equipment with Internet access;
  • premises for seminars and practical classes;
  • computer labs;
  • forensic laboratory;
  • specially equipped hall for court hearings.

The Academy has the necessary set of licensed software . 

To organize classes in physical culture, the university rents a sports hall of the Moscow Academy of Finance and Law and the summer stadium of the Znamensky Brothers Olympic Center.

Medical care for students is provided under an agreement between the RAAN and the Moscow Scientific and Practical Center for Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine of the Moscow Department of Health, located a 5-minute walk from the Academy.

An important structural unit of the university is the library, which provides the educational process with educational and scientific literature. The library has student workstations equipped with computers with access to databases and the Internet. 

For the classes of students with disabilities and (or) disabled people in the RAAN all the necessary material and technical conditions have been created.

Admission dates and extra charges

The academic year in the RAAN begins on September 1, while the Academy can postpone the beginning of the academic year by no more than 2 months. The length of the school year is 52 weeks. At least 2 times during the academic year, students are given holidays with a total duration of 7-10 weeks per year, including at least 2 weeks in the winter.

In addition to tuition fees, you will need additional living expenses (for non-residents), transportation costs, food, leisure, etc.

Enrolment process

For admission to training, the applicant submits an application for admission with the attachment of the necessary documents:

  • Consent to the processing of personal data;
  • Identity and citizenship documents;
  • Documents on the formation of the established sample;
  • SNILS (if any);
  • 4 photographs in size 3×4, matte (for persons entering the results of entrance examinations);
  • Documents confirming the presence of individual achievements and special rights;
  • Other documents (at the discretion of the applicant).

Acceptance of documents from applicants for the bachelor's program for all forms of study for contractual places begins on April 1 and ends in August, for applicants for state-funded places begins on June 20 and ends on July 25.

The Academy may conduct additional reception of documents for vacant places.

Documents can be submitted in person, by mail or in the electronic information system of the organization, as well as EPGU.

The current number of places for admission is 70, for higher education programs - 148.

Perspectives

For future lawyers, the Academy has established two types of practice: educational and industrial. To organize the practical training of students, the RAAN cooperates with state and commercial companies and organizations, including:

  • executive authorities at various levels;
  • courts to protect the interests of citizens and organizations;
  • branches of the Pension Fund of the Russian Federation and non-state Pension Funds;
  • social protection services;
  • citizens' commissions on human rights;
  • institutions of justice and others.

Many graduates remain to work in organizations where they practiced. 

Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol

  • Completed secondary general education (11 grades), secondary vocational or higher education;
  • The results of the unified state exam of the current year or for 4 years preceding the year of admission;
  • The results of the entrance examinations conducted by the Academy independently. 

Minimum number of points on the Unified State Exam (for budget/contractual places):

  • Social Studies – 45/42 points;
  • Russian language – 40/36 points;
  • Foreign language – 30/22 points;
  • History – 35/32 points;
  • Informatics and ICT – 44/40 points.

  • Academic scholarship at the expense of budget allocations of the federal budget;
  • State social scholarship;
  • Personal scholarship of the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (founder);
  • One-time scholarship of the Moscow Regional Chamber of Notaries.
