The private school “Epishkola” is famous for its non-standard approach to learning: for example, pupils of the school do not receive grades from the first to the eighth grades, but each has a personal record book, where the student’s achievements are marked in comparison with his own success of the past six months, and not with the success of others. Accompanied by the curator, everyone can move along their own educational route, taking into account his interests, abilities, and further life goals. Additional studies in studios and individual creative projects of students are subject to the same.
Teachers are trying to teach students to put knowledge into practice. To do this, twice a year, pupils of "Epishkoly" are sent to a recreation center in the Leningrad region, where education continues in a game and research form. The flexible system allows for inclusive education, but the number of such students in the school community is quite small, which allows us to pay special attention to each of them.
The conceptual basis for the construction of the educational process in Episkol are the ideas of the “new education”, which include the following provisions:
In grades 9-11, when developing an individual student’s route, the curator takes into account the student's preferences, including in the number of subjects studied, subjects chosen by him.
Most often, in grade 11, subjects are selected for which the student is going to take the EGE, but this is not only history, social studies, literature, geography, but also music. If desired, students can choose a special course on a narrow subject: “Features of the functioning of the human body”, “Nuclear Physics”, “Art of the 19th century” and others.
The school does not provide accommodation. Pupils of the gymnasium are engaged in full-time mode from 9 o'clock + each student has the opportunity to stay in school for homework with the help of a teacher until 20 o'clock. Three meals a day are organized, and you can drink tea with cookies or water at any time throughout the day.
Every month, outdoor activities are organized for pupils in theaters and museums, on excursions and walks, and collective trips for closer communication and friendship of students.
Studios in Epishkol have an applied focus, allowing everyone to choose the material according to taste and strength. At the lessons of work, students learn to work with paper, clay, felt, woven materials, master various technologies. Every week, you can choose a new direction, and during trips or dives, applied arts have a thematic focus, for example, papier-mâché theater masks. Activities:
Cost: 22,000 rubles. When studying at school, two or more students from the same family have discounts.
Enrollment of the student occurs as a result of an interview with the administration, with a psychologist and teachers. The main goal is to find out whether the educational environment created for Epishkol is appropriate for a student . In the case of positive results of the interview, a probationary period is appointed during which the student and the team gaze at each other.
