NTI (branch) of UrFU was established on July 24, 1944. Today the Institute is one of the leading scientific centers of the Middle Urals.

NTI (branch) of UrFU conducts international cooperation with the Kazakh National Research Technical University named after K.I. Satpayev.

Nonresident full-time students of the NTI (branch) of UrFU are provided with a dormitory for 88 places. The cost of living per month consists of rental fees and utility bills.

The process of formation of NTI (branch) of UrFU is carried out in 2 educational buildings equipped with classrooms. The classrooms are equipped with the equipment necessary for the education of specialists: a scanning electron microscope, an optical professional microscope and a microhardness tester, a welding surfacing complex, a set of equipment for welding, control and preparation of materials, a set of equipment based on a programmable logic controller, etc.

Students are given free access to the library of the NTI (branch) of UrFU for 84 places.

At the NTI (branch) of UrFU, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
