Near East University (Yakın Doğu Üniversitesi, NEU) was founded in 1988 in the territory of Northern Cyprus and is a fairly large higher educational institution. The faculty at NEU is formed by educators from more than 25 countries, teaching more than 25,000 students from all over the world. The University is one of the three best educational institutions in Northern Cyprus and is a member of the following associations:

  • Association of European Universities (EUA)
  • Federation of Universities of the Islamic World (FUIW).

NEU is accredited by the International Leadership and Enterprise Development Organization (JCI) and the International Society for the Training of Engineering (IGIP).

Term dates, timetable and extra fees

The school has a two-semester academic year. Autumn semester lasts from October to January, spring semester from March to June.
