MILMJ is a unique educational institution where the traditions of creating works of Russian art are preserved.

The implementation of the educational program at MILMJ provides for the following formats: lectures, practical and seminar classes, extracurricular activities.

The structure of the MILMJ includes:

• Department of Artistic, Performing and Project Activities,
• Scientific Design and Technology Laboratory,
• Museum.

On the basis of MILMJ, the Scientific Design and Technology Laboratory operates, where students and teachers of the university conduct scientific activities on the theory and practice of professional education in the field of art.

Since 2018, MILMJ has been publishing the online journal "Traditional Applied Arts and Education".

Nonresident students are provided with a place in the dormitory of the university. Total seats — 92. The dormitory has comfortable living conditions. Separately organized room for independent work, a gym, a room for relaxation.

The average cost of living is 1000 rubles per month.

The dormitory building is equipped with common kitchens, and there is a canteen in the educational building of the MILMJ.

Student life at MILMJ is filled with cultural events. Teachers and students of the Institute regularly take an active part in the life of the university.

Exhibitions of student works, fashion shows are held, students take part in festivals and competitions:

During the academic year, students visit museums and theaters.

MILMJ is located in the village of Mstera, Vladimir region.

The classrooms are equipped with modern computer, audio and video equipment, classrooms for practical work are equipped with podiums, staging equipment and exhibition frames.
