MPEI was established on October 31, 1996. The Institute is a modern educational, scientific and industrial complex with its own facilities, on the basis of which all conditions have been created for the education of highly qualified specialists in various fields.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical classes, educational, industrial and diploma practices.

The educational process is organized at the following faculties:

• law and economics,
• Design.

The main scientific direction of MPEI is "Economics and Management of the National Economy by Industries and Spheres of Activity".

The placement of information on MPEI agreements concluded and planned to be concluded with foreign and international organizations on education and science has been suspended until December 31, 2023.

For meals for students and staff, the institute has 2 canteens for 68 seats.

The process of MPEI formation is carried out in two educational buildings equipped with classrooms for classes and classrooms for independent work. The classrooms are well equipped: visual and didactic materials, educational and teaching aids, sets of demonstration equipment, personal computers, video projectors, etc.

Students are given free access to the library.

At MPEI, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
