The Luzhkov Moscow City University of Management of the Government of Moscow is one of the leading universities in the country in education competitive human resources in the field of management and law. MSUU graduates have abilities that strictly meet the needs of municipal and public administration.

The academic year at Moscow State University is annually organized according to the schedule of the educational process and is based on the order of the higher management of the university. The schedule of sessions is drawn up for the course according to the semester system of study.

On the basis of the university there are 6 departments:

• public administration and personnel policy;
• social and humanitarian disciplines and history of law;
• management of state and municipal procurement;
• financial management and financial law;
• urban economics and housing law;
• Law.

The university administration is actively pursuing a policy in research activities. Students under the guidance of the teaching staff of Moscow State University participate in international conferences and take prizes.

By order of the Government of Moscow, federal executive bodies and large corporations of the country, MSUUs conduct scientific research in various fields.

Every year, international and all-Russian scientific and practical conferences are held on the basis of Moscow State University on topical issues of public administration, on issues of interaction between business, the state and civil society.

MSUU publishes a periodical scientific and practical journal "Bulletin of the University of the Government of Moscow".

About 80% of MSUU graduates work in the executive authorities of Moscow.

The work of MSUU is supervised by the Department of Civil Service and Personnel of the Government of Moscow.

MSUU provides free legal advice and emergency accounting assistance on the examination of economic and financial activities of organizations.

MSUU has established business contacts with universities, scientific and educational structures, state and public organizations of Kazakhstan, Italy, South Korea, Japan, Austria, Great Britain, Singapore, Belarus, Mexico, China and other countries.

In both buildings of MSUU there are canteens and buffets, where students can have a snack in pauses between lectures. Total number of seats in canteens: 188 and 94.

MSUU has a Student Council, which regulates a number of issues related to the lives of students. The main task of the council is mentoring work with first-year students: education, master classes and consultations on the educational process are held.

The Student Council, together with the university administration, organizes events for students: concerts, a charity ball, excursions, sports competitions. An art group has been created that unites creative students in the field of music, painting, theatrical art, etc.

MSUU is located in 2 buildings, the main of which is located near the Garden Ring, a 5-minute walk from the station "Sukharevskaya".

The classrooms of the university are equipped with all the necessary furniture for lecture classes, modern computers, projectors, electronic boards and flipcharts.

On the territory of the second educational building there is a hall for fitness. 

The academic year at the university lasts from September 1 to June 30 and is divided into two semesters. The first semester lasts approximately from September 1 to January 25, the second - from February 9 to June 30. At the end of each semester, an examination session is organized. Holidays 2 times a year: winter (duration 2 weeks) and summer (2 months).

Due to the lack of a hostel for nonresident students, the main line of expenditure for students will be the payment of housing: apartments or rooms. The average cost of renting a one-room apartment in Moscow is 30,000-38,000  rubles. In addition to the costs should be attributed to the cost of food and transportation, if the student will rent an apartment in a remote area of the city.

The deadline for submitting documents for the first year of the full-time department is set by the management of Moscow State University: from June 20 to July 25 inclusive. When passing internal tests, the applicant must submit documents no later than July 18. The candidate must submit a package of documents to the admission committee of the university:

• Application for admission;
• Document on education (certificate or diploma);
• Identity and citizenship document (passport);
• 2 photos 3×4cm ;
• Documents confirming the presence of individual achievements;
• Documents confirming the rights to benefits and other special rights;
• SNILS (copy);
• Results of the Unified State Exam or internal written testing.

Documents can be submitted in person to the admission committee of the university or through the portal "Public Services".

To date, about 2,000 students are educated at MSUU. The most popular area of study is "State and Municipal Management" - 488 full-time students.

The Career Development Center operates on the basis of Moscow State University: its main task is to help students organize internships in the Government of Moscow and to assist graduates in finding employment.

The main criteria for successful passage to the field are:

• Information about completed education;
• High level of business qualities;
• Passing entrance tests or the Unified State Exam at a high level (including for citizens of foreign countries);
• Focus on solving complex practical problems;
• Documents confirming the availability of sports achievements, conducting scientific activities and participating in Olympiads will be an additional bonus upon admission.

Entrance examinations conducted by MSUU independently are held in writing in Russian language.

The university has a special program of material support for students. For the new academic year, 60 scholarships will be distributed, allowing students to fully compensate for the cost of education. The distribution of scholarships will be as follows:

• 15 — for first-year students whose use results exceed the threshold of 220 points;
• 45 – students of 2-4 courses (the distribution will take place according to the results of academic performance and social activity).

Scholarship holders will have the opportunity to undergo an internship in the Government of Moscow by analogy with the city internship program.
