The educational organization was established on April 6, 2004. STU produces top-level specialists with specialized eduaction in the field of construction, heat power engineering, chemical technologies and service.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, the passage of educational and industrial and pre-diploma practices, which are divided into types depending on the specialty.

In ITU, the following topics were further developed as the main directions of the university's research:

• Technologies and means of mechanization in various industries;
• Research of construction technology;
• Modern legislation in the light of changes in the Constitution of the Russian Federation;
• Theory and methodology of teaching mathematics;
• Study of trophic relationships in anthropoecosystems;
• Introduction of electronic learning tools in the educational process;
• Development of project documentation for orders of construction enterprises.

ITU conducts international cooperation with the Export Academy Baden-Württemberg.

STU does not have dormitories. The university rents places in the dormitories of the Ryazan State Agrotechnological University named after P.A. Kostychev and the Machine Tool College of the Ryazan State Radio Engineering University. 

For meals for students and staff, ITU has a café on its territory.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, ITU organizes and takes part in the following events:

• XV International Scientific and Practical Conference "Student Scientific Research for Science and Education of the XXI Century";
• XVI International Scientific and Practical Conference "Science and Education of the XXI Century";
• XIV International Student Scientific and Practical Conference "Student Scientific Search for Science and Education of the XXI Century".

The process of formation of the university is carried out in 3 educational buildings equipped with computer classes, media classrooms and laboratories.

• Rotary evaporator, photoelectric colorimeter, spectrometers and mass spectrometer MX-72, polarimeter, chromatographs, UV spectrometer FP4, equipment for TLC, rotary evaporator, DC welding rectifier for 8 posts, scissors, sheet bending machine, combined press shears and vibrating machines, pendulum saw, radial drilling machine, lathe, hydraulic press, machine tool, compressor unit, welding transformers, sheet bending rollers, drilling machine and Etc.

Students are given free access to the scientific and educational library.

For sports, STU provides sports facilities:

At STU, the learning process is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

For admission to STU, undergraduate applicants must provide:

• Identity card, citizenship;
• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications;
• Application for admission;
• A document confirming registration in the system of individual (personalized) accounting (if any);
• A document confirming disability or disability (if any);
• A document confirming the passage of centralized testing (exam);
• A document confirming that the applicant has the right to admission without entrance examinations;
• Documents confirming individual achievements.

The necessary package of documents is provided in the STU: 

• personally;
• by mail;
• in electronic form through the electronic information system of the organization, as well as through the EPGU (if used).

At the moment, more than 300 people are studying at STU.

After graduating from STU, graduates become builders, power engineers and architects.

For admission to undergraduate educational programs, you must:

• Completed education is not lower than secondary general;
• Points received for the exam are not lower than:
  • Russian language — 36;
  • mathematics — 27;
  • additional entrance test of creative orientation (figure) - 61;
  • physics — 36;
  • social studies, 42;
  • chemistry — 36;
  • biology, 36;

  • History — 32.

For admission to master's programs, you must:

• Completed higher education;
• Successful completion of the entrance test - 61.

As material support for students, ITU allocates the following types of scholarships for students:
