Lower Columbia College was founded in 1934, became a community college in 1961, and joined the public college system in 1967. Today it is a comprehensive social engineering college offering over 70 programs and serving over 4,000 students per year. Additional programs include basic adult education (transitional learning) and certificate programs.
The 2 + 2 program is designed for students who wish to enroll in an undergraduate course. Students earn a two-year Associate (Associate) degree at LCC and then transfer to their bachelor's degree. The university cooperates with many higher schools, ensures a smooth transition, and helps students. This option saves money by lowering tuition fees for the first 2 years and helps international students to get comfortable in the US academic system.
The OHLA University Study Program allows international students to automatically enroll in multiple university programs throughout the United States. A team of experts prepares students for university studies, contributes to successful admission to an American university.
LCC offers students two types of accommodation: on-campus residence and host family.

Homestay accommodation is available for students from 16 to 20 years old.
Regardless of which country the student is from and what program he chooses, the experience of living with a host family will be an important part of American education. By participating in everyday family life, host family activities, observing house rules, cleanliness and order, students will gain experience of everyday communication, improve their language skills.
LCC offers:

The Lower Columbia College Foundation awards over 250,000 scholarships per year. All students planning to attend LCC are encouraged to apply. Scholarship applications are accepted every year during the winter quarter and provide funding for the next academic year (fall, winter, spring).
