Leningrad State University named after A.S. Pushkin (Leningrad State University named after A.S. Pushkin) is the largest reference higher educational institution of the Leningrad region.

The university was established in 1992 as the Leningrad Regional Pedagogical Institute. In the next few years, the university changed its name and structure several times, in 1999 it received the name in honor of Alexander Sergeevich Pushkin - the great Russian poet and playwright.

At the moment, the institution teaches about 30 areas of bachelor's and specialist's degree, 30 master's programs, 8 specializations of postgraduate studies.
