Rider University is a small private university in the state of New Jersey that offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate majors, several doctoral and certificate programs.

Founded in 1865 in Trenton as Trenton Business College, the university moved several times (the current location was chosen in 1959), and a few decades later, when the college was merged with Westminster Choir College, it was given the now known name and status of the university.
