Khabarovsk State Institute of Culture, KhGIK

KGIK was established on June 1, 1968.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical classes, educational, industrial and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is organized in the following departments:

• cultural studies and museology,
• conducting, folk and pop music,
• art history, musical, instrumental and vocal art,
• directing, acting and stage speech,
• directing theatrical performances and holidays,
• Choreography
• library and information activities, documentation and archival science,
• socio-cultural activities.

KGIC conducts international cooperation with the following organizations:

• Heihei University,
• Qiqihar University,
• Peking College,
• Sichuan University of Culture and Arts,
• Heilongjiang Training Consulting Company in Russia "Qiuzhi",
• Tajik State Institute of Culture and Arts named after Mirzo Tursunzade.

KGIK provides a dormitory for 294 beds. The cost of living is up to 8400 rubles per month.

To organize meals for students and staff, the institute has a canteen for 54 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, KGIK organizes and participates in the following events:

• Competition of scientific projects of students of KhGIK,

• All-Russian choral action "Singing Square",
• Competition of student amateur performances "New People",
• Reporting concert of the Department of Conducting, Folk and Pop Music,

• "Days of Actual Scientific Cinema".

The learning process of KGIK takes place in the educational building, equipped with classrooms and facilities for practical training. The classrooms are equipped with: musical instruments, sound engineer's console, speakers, PCs, theater equipment, etc. 

Students are given free access to the library for 30 seats.

For sports, the institute offers:

• Gym
• An outdoor stadium of a wide profile with elements of an obstacle course.

At KGIK the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

For admission to KGIK you must provide:

• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications.

At the moment, more than 600 undergraduate and graduate students are studying at KGIK.

Graduates of KGIK solve employment issues during their studies, combining work with the educational process, as well as during the internship period, taking into account the profile of their profession. The Institute actively promotes the employment of graduates.

As material support for students, KGIK allocates the following types of scholarships for students:
