Description of Kaptiva Sports Academy
Kaptiva Sports Academy Barcelona is an elite residential football academy located in Barcelona (Spain). Since 2012, it has developed U16 and U18 players. The academy’s main goal is to offer an inclusive annual program to talented players from around the world and help them reach their full potential through a fully integrated football program in Spain. SMAPSE experts believe that studying and living in a foreign country is an invaluable experience that can help young men become not only better players but also better people. The benefits of this experience can have a lasting positive effect on each individual.
The academy partners with Sant Cugat FC and trains players aged 12 to 18 from around the world using its own F.A.S.T. (Football Academy System Training) methodology. Developed by Kaptiva Sports, the methodology is based on the principles of the Spanish football school and is designed to immerse players fully in the training process.
Educational process
The academy partners with the European International School of Barcelona (EISB) on its Sant Cugat campus, where players enrolled in the AESA Prep program follow an American curriculum (University of Nebraska High School) for grades 8 through 12. The program combines in-person and online classes and runs on a credit system that lets players schedule their semesters around the sports calendar.
Accommodation, meals, prices
Built exclusively for the academy, the student residence is home to all KSA players. The residence is located in a safe environment designed to support players’ development. Residence amenities include double rooms, en-suite bathrooms, 24/7 security staff, Wi-Fi, and regular changes of towels and sheets.
The residence also has a shared lounge where players can relax together. Full board includes breakfast, lunch, an afternoon snack, and dinner. Rooms are cleaned twice a week, and a laundry service is available.

Kaptiva Sports Academy Barcelona has a collaboration agreement with the European International School of Barcelona. The academic program provided by EISB allows international players to meet the demands of the sport without compromising their education. The recently built KSA student residence is located directly on the school campus, providing a boarding school environment for players during the season.
The academy’s football field sits directly beneath the residence, next to the campus dining hall. The residence, the school, and the training fields all share the same campus grounds in Sant Cugat, a suburb of Barcelona.

The cost includes individualized sessions, full season competition games, pro games, tournaments, club trainings, masterclasses, uniform kits, academic school enrolment, accommodation, all meals and snacks, full medical insurance, airport transfers, and much more.
Entry requirements, how to apply, what is required to enrol
All candidates must participate in a trial or one-week program at Kaptiva Sports Academy. During this time, the technical staff assesses the player’s technical level in organized sessions and matches. Attitude, commitment, and passion for the game are also important considerations. Because the academy has a limited number of spots, enrollment is granted through the trial program.
