In 2009 School of public policy - Institute of Scientific Information and Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences the economy under the President of the Russian Federation was established as a faculty of public administration and produced the first set of students for their own bachelor's programs, and the current name was acquired by the Institute in 2014. Since 2011, the institute has been included in the structure of the Institute for State Policy and Applied Humanitarian Studies of the Russian Academy of Science and Technology under the President of the Russian Federation (IGPiPG), and already in 2012 the university has earned the right to independently develop educational standards and curricula using the international principles of Liberal Arts.
In 2013, the Innovation Laboratory for Scientific and Practical Research, the Center for Urban Development Competences, was established at the Institute of Scientific Information and Social Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the School for Contemporary Humanitarian Studies, which deals with the problems of modern humanitarian knowledge and education.

For students of full-time education there is a place in the university dormitory No. 2 (Volgogradsky prospect, 70 beds, Tekstilshchiki m.) and in the hotel-residential complex (90 seats, Vernandsky prospect, South-West) In the city hostel number 3 (54 places, Biryulyovskaya street, Tsaritsyno metro station, mainly places for postgraduate students).
The dormitory is divided into residential blocks: each equipped with private facilities and baths, on each floor there is a student kitchen with necessary furniture and household appliances. Rooms are designed for 2-3 people: the rooms have beds and personal desks for each student, wardrobes and household appliances (table lamps, refrigerators). High-speed Wi-Fi is available. In general, the building has classrooms for self-study and lessons, comfortable rest rooms with upholstered furniture, bookshelves, TV and board games. In walking distance from the hostel there are food supermarkets and pharmacies, shopping and entertainment centers (meals are not provided to students, self-service).
In order to maintain cleanliness and order, attendants from among the students are appointed, a common schedule is drawn up. The commandant and the teachers who help him are in charge of the hostel. The building adopts a strict access regime - the safety of pupils is guaranteed around the clock (in the hostel and in the adjacent territory), video surveillance is conducted.
Each apartment block has comfortable sleeping and working places for 3 people, necessary appliances and furniture, bathroom, facilities and student kitchen. Wi-Fi is available 24 hours a day. Maintenance of cleanliness and order is carried out in turn, according to the schedule of duty established among students. The whole territory of the hostel is monitored round the clock, video surveillance is being conducted in all common areas. The pupils are constantly supervised by the commandant and his assistants, educators.
In walking distance from the hostel there are shopping and entertainment centers, pharmacies and grocery supermarkets (meals are not provided, students prepare themselves for themselves in common kitchens).
The renowned intellectual club "The most important", where students of any course are admitted, has been working at the RANHIGS Institute since the very beginning. The student newspaper "Notepad" is issued, the general Student Council operates - the extra-class activity of students is always active and diverse.

If the applicant does not have International language certificate, he can pass the entrance internal exam (for enrollment you need a level not lower than Upper Intermediate). Also, all applicants for a place at the Institute undergo a personal interview with representatives of the admission committee (in English).

Annually about 20-30 scholarships for education are awarded at the university: they are given to both Russian and foreign students and act fully for the entire educational course.
