Goodwin University is a private American university offering Associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's degree programs.

Its history began in the 1960s, when the business school of the Institute of Data was founded. Gradually developing and expanding, it began to attract more local and international students, after which it received the status of a college, valid until 2020, and then the right to teach higher education programs and university status. The gradual development of Goodwin University has led it to a new academic image — a small but strong university with three faculties offering a wide range of specializations: from medical sciences and nursing to advanced manufacturing and business research. The university retains a small number of students, as it adheres to a personalized approach to each of them — about 3,010 students of different backgrounds and nationalities study on the campus located in East Hartford.

A distinctive feature is the flexible forms of programs that provide students with the opportunity to choose whether to visit the campus permanently, combine their degree with professional activities, or study their chosen program completely remotely. Thanks to this approach, the academic area of Goodwin University is open all year round, and new students are admitted six times a year.

Students receive comprehensive support from qualified teachers and specialized department staff. Some of the services available during your studies include:

During extracurricular hours, Goodwin University organizes a number of events through which students get to know each other better, gain new knowledge and develop professional skills.

The most frequent events are master classes conducted under the guidance of invited specialists and qualified university teachers. Throughout the year, students participate in various cultural, sports, creative, and charity events focused on developing their talents, collaborating, and helping the local community.

Students who love sports are among the inter- and intra-university sports teams suitable for students with any level of preparation. Goodwin University is a member of NIRSA (National Association of Intramural and Recreational Sports), Region-1 College Football, and the Southern New England Conference of the National Association of Club Basketball. Among the events in which the institution's teams participated, it is worth noting boat races, flag football tournaments, pickleball, indoor and outdoor volleyball, basketball and soccer.

Another popular sport is esports. Goodwin University is a member of the National Student Esports Conference, which manages competitions between universities across the United States and Canada. Students can participate in competitions both face-to-face and remotely. NECC currently offers competitions in a variety of games, including League of Legends, Overwatch, Rainbow Six: Siege, Rocket League, Super Smash Bros. and Valorent.

Goodwin University occupies a relatively small area in the central part of East Hartford. The infrastructure includes several buildings in which lecture halls, scientific laboratories, recreation areas, specialized facilities for sports, creative activities and events are prepared. The campus also has a large library with access to printed and electronic resources, and a Center for additional support and counseling.

Since 2021, Goodwin University has been partnering with the University of Bridgeport, a higher education institution in Bridgeport which academic grounds and facilities are part of Goodwin University.

The Goodwin University campus is open almost every day throughout the calendar year, excluding national and international holidays. The main stages of the academic year:

• Autumn trimester: September-December,
• Spring trimester: January-April,
• Summer trimester: May-August.

The University offers three learning formats: full-time, hybrid and distance learning. Classes are held throughout the week, and most students have holidays.

The list of expenses depends on the chosen form of study. For full—time students, it will consist of:

• Some extracurricular activities,
• Educational resources,
• Personal expenses,
• Accommodation and meals.

The admissions committee expects a completed registration form and the applicant's personal documents, then invites them for an interview and makes a decision on enrollment.

Graduates achieve excellent results in passing exams and subsequent employment. For example, students of medical specialties pass professional exams successfully in 87% of cases and continue their academic path in leading medical institutions of the country and abroad.

To enroll in the Goodwin University programs, foreign applicants must meet the following criteria::

• Availability of a foreign passport, medical documents, visa or residence permit,
• Certificate of full secondary education / Bachelor's degree — depending on the chosen program,
• English language proficiency level, confirmed by TOEFL,
• Duolingo or other internationally recognized tests.

After entering college, each student (including from another country) is eligible for financial support and scholarships. A special commission examines candidates on the basis of academic indicators and financial status. 85% of college students receive some kind of financial assistance to pay for tuition.
