The school on Vasilievsky Island in St. Petersburg was opened in 1995. The teachers and students of this educational institution regularly participate in many Olympiads and competitions, winning prizes, which indicates a good level of education.

Meals for students are prepared daily according to a cyclical two-week menu, the meals include all the necessary vitamins to maintain a healthy lifestyle for children.

Students are provided with free meals in case of the one of the following conditions:

• 1-4 grades
• Passing adapted programs
• From low-income families
• From large families
• Orphans and those left without parental care
• With disabilities
• Registered at the tuberculosis dispensary
• Suffering from chronic diseases.

Elementary school students are provided with breakfast only, other categories of students are provided with breakfast and lunch / set meals at the choice of the parent / legal representative.

In order for the child to eat free of charge, an application and documents of the privileged category will be required from his adult relatives / guardians.

Pupils of school # 16 are engaged in self-education in extracurricular hours, and the school helps them with circles and sections:

1. Socio-pedagogical orientation: the study of traffic rules, patriotic and intellectual education, social activity.
2. Artistic focus: fine arts and handicrafts, theater studio and dance lessons.
3. Natural scientific focus: the study of ecology.
4. Physical culture and sports orientation: preparation for passing the standards of the TRP, sections of football, chess and fire-applied sports, choreography, drill.

Schoolchildren participate in sports competitions, subject Olympiads, and creative contests. During the celebration, themed events and concerts are held in the assembly hall.

The school building is located on the street. Cash, children study in a four-story building with branches on two floors - in these premises there is a canteen, sports and gyms. 40 rooms are equipped for studying, which include a speech therapist's office, laboratory assistants, and additional education classes.

The library is located on the second floor of the building; it is equipped with a reading room and a book depository with a large fund of literature for study and self-education.

On the school grounds, there is a stadium with football and basketball fields, gymnastic equipment and treadmills.

The building is equipped with a ramp and wide doors, information signs for comfortable and safe visits and studying for people with disabilities.

The academic year begins on September 1 and lasts until May 25. Students in grades 1-9 study in quarters, and in grades 10-11, the program is held in half-years.

• October 26-November 3
• December 28-January 10
• February 8-14 (only for first graders)
• March 22-28
• May 25 / the end of the OGE and USE-31 August.

Classes begin at 8:30, each lesson lasts 45 minutes (for the first grades - 35-40 minutes).

Studying takes place in one shift in five academic days. The maximum number of lessons per day is eight.

Applications for first grades are accepted from April 1 to June 30. For admission, a child must be 6 years and 5 months old, but no more than 7 years 5 months. Documents required together with the application:

1. Parent / legal representative identity document
2. Child's birth certificate and copy
3. Certificate of registration of the child at the place of residence (form 8) / certificate of registration of the child at the place of residence (form 3).

To enter the specialized classes of basic and secondary education, the future student will have to pass tests in specialized subjects.

Enrollment in any chosen class is subject to availability and on a first come, first served basis.
