FEGII was founded on February 14, 1962.

The educational process is organized at the following faculties:

• Musical
• Theatrical

The main scientific directions of FEGII:

• Fundamental and applied problems of musicology - history and theory of music, musical semiotics,
• Problems of theory and history of performance, performance interpretation,
• Problems of methodology and pedagogy,
• Culture and art of the Russian Far East and East Asia,
• Philosophical, cultural and aesthetic problems of art history.

FEGII conducts international cooperation with the following organizations:

• Jilin Institute of Arts,
• University of Arts in Belgrade.

FEGII provides a dormitory for 228 beds. The cost of living is up to 1200 rubles per month.

For meals for students and staff, the institute has a canteen for 120 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, FEGII organizes and participates in the following events:

• Open viewings of the Department of Painting and Drawing of the Faculty of Art,
• Championship among international streetball teams,
• Concert of the Pop Orchestra Instruments Section,
• Individual championship in power sports,
• All-Russian Competition of bayanists and accordionists named after A. V. Krupin,
• Table tennis competitions ,
• Concert of the section of wind and percussion instruments,
• International Interuniversity Festival of International Students "I Study in Russia",
• International Festival-Competition "Constellations of the Arctic",
• Exhibition-competition of creative works "Native land, people and the sea".

The learning process at FEGII is carried out in the main educational building and in the People's House named after A. S. Pushkin, equipped with classrooms for classes, halls, funds and studios. The classrooms are equipped with: video equipment, video materials, multimedia equipment, musical instruments, tape recorders, players, etc.

Students are given free access to the library for 30 seats.

For sports, the institute offers:

• Outdoor sports ground.

At FEGII, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after which students are given a vacation (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).

For admission to KGIK you must provide:

• State-recognized certificate of education and qualifications.

If necessary, the applicant also provides:

• Confirmation of the right to admission within the quotas.

At the moment, more than 400 undergraduate and graduate students are studying at FEGII.

Employment of FEGII graduates is carried out through cooperation with the autonomous non-profit organization "Agency for the Development of Human Capital in the Far East and the Arctic".

For admission to bachelor's and specialist's educational programs, an applicant must:

• Completed education not lower than secondary general,
• Successful completion of the entrance test, not lower:

  • Professional test - 40.
• Points received for the exam are not lower than:
  • Russian language - 56-65,
  • Literature - 45-50.

For admission to master's programs, you must:

• Completed higher education,
• Successful completion of the entrance test, not lower:

  • Colloquium — 60,
  • Foreign language — 50.

For admission to postgraduate programs, you must:

• Completed higher education,
• Successful completion of the entrance test, not lower:
  • Special discipline – 60,
  • Philosophy — 60,
  • Foreign language — 60.

As material support for students, FEGII allocates the following types of scholarships for students:
