The branch was established in 1986 in the city of Essentuki.

The learning process includes a course of lectures and seminars, practical and laboratory classes, educational and pre-diploma practice.

The educational process is organized in the following departments:

• General pedagogy and pedagogical technologies,
• History of Law and Social Disciplines,
• Mathematicians, computer scientists,

• Psychological and pedagogical conditions of linguistic and socio-cultural adaptation of bilinguals in the education system of the Stavropol Territory,

• Formation of components of pedagogical skills of a physical education teacher.

For meals for students and staff, the university has a canteen for 240 seats.

To involve students in social and scientific activities, the university organizes and takes part in the following events:

The educational process takes place in one educational building, equipped with classrooms for lectures and seminars. The classrooms are equipped with modern technology: projectors, screens, laptops and interactive whiteboards.

Students are given unlimited access to the library with a reading room.

For sports, the branch has 2 gyms and an outdoor stadium of a wide profile with elements of an obstacle course.

In the Essentuki branch of SSPI, the academic year is divided into two semesters: autumn and spring. At the end of each, an examination session is held, after passing the students, they are given vacations (in winter in January, in summer in July and August).
